wedding drama

I smile as I stare at my growing belly in the full-length mirror, running my hands over the big bumps where my twins, Taylor and Nicholas, are growing. I'm seven months pregnant, and I can't believe how close I am to meeting them.

"Harper, are you almost ready?" Charlie calls from the other room.

"Coming!" I call back, taking one last look at myself before heading out to the living room.

Charlie's twin sister, Cecily, is getting married today, and I'm her maid of honor. Of course, Cecily was my maid of honor at my wedding to Charlie, so it only makes sense.

I look over at Demi, who's snoozing peacefully in her crib, and can't help but smile. She's going to be a flower girl today, and I know she's going to steal the show.

As we're getting ready to leave for the ceremony, there's a knock at the door. I open it to find Cecily, looking stunning in her white wedding dress.

"Wow, Cecily, you look amazing," I say, giving her a hug.

"Thanks, Harper. I'm so glad you're here to support me today. And can you believe it, Demi is going to be a flower girl!"

I smile and nod, looking over at Demi, who's starting to stir.

As we make our way to the ceremony, I can't help but feel a twinge of nervousness. Cecily's fiance, Noah, is great, but his sister Kayla has always caused drama. And I have a feeling she's going to make an appearance today.

As we arrive at the venue, I can see Kayla standing off to the side, looking annoyed. She's wearing a white dress, and I can see Cecily's eyes widen as she notices.

"Kayla, what are you doing?" Cecily asks, trying to keep her voice steady.

"I'm wearing white, just like you," Kayla says, with a sneer. "I figured I might as well match the bride."

I can see Cecily's eyes fill with tears, and I step in, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Kayla, that's not appropriate," I say, trying to keep my voice calm. "This is Cecily's special day, and you need to respect that."

Kayla just rolls her eyes, and I can see Cecily's shoulders slump.

"It's fine, Harper," she says, trying to smile. "I just want to focus on marrying Noah."

As the ceremony begins, I can see Kayla out of the corner of my eye, sulking in the back. But I try to ignore her, focusing on Cecily and Noah as they exchange their vows.

After the ceremony, as we're all gathered for pictures, Kayla comes up to me, a smirk on her face.

"I just wanted to let you know, Harper, that I'm not done causing drama," she says. "I have a few more surprises up my sleeve."

I glare at her, trying to keep my cool. "Kayla, I would advise you to stop. This is a happy day, and we don't need any more negativity."

Kayla just laughs and walks away, leaving me shaking my head. I'll have to keep an eye on her for the rest of the night.

As the reception gets underway, I can see Demi, looking adorable in her flower girl dress, playing with the other kids. And I can see Cecily and Noah, looking happier than ever, out on the dance floor.

Even with Kayla's antics, I can't help but feel grateful for this day. My best friend is married, my husband and I are stronger than ever, and our family is growing.

I look down at my belly, feeling the kicks of Taylor and Nicholas. I can't wait to meet them, and I know they're going to be just as loved as Demi.

As the night goes on, I do my best to ignore Kayla's attempts to cause drama, and instead focus on the happiness of the day. And as the reception comes to an end, and Cecily and Noah head off on their honeymoon, I know that our family will always stand by each other, no matter what challenges come our way.
