The Core
Ben and Sammy sat hid behind a bush and watched as Big Eatie and Little Eatie ate the meat they had place. They turned as they heard footsteps behind them.
"Hey guys." Brooklyn said as her and Darius approached them.
"What are you two up to?" Darius questioned.
"Just keeping the Carnivores fed so they don't go after the herbivores." Sammy explained. "How'd the drone go?"
"Great! It's Patrolling the coastline of the island and will tell us when Palmer and the Kons return." Brooklyn explained. "Where are Patrick and Yaz?"
Her question was answered when the group heard Yaz loudly laughing behind the. They stood up and walked towards the watering hole to see Yaz and Patrick both in the middle of the water.
Yaz dove underneath causing Patrick to look around smiling when suddenly, Yaz launched herself out of the water and wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's neck, causing him to stumble backwards under the water laughing.
A few seconds later they both emerged still laughing.
Yaz wrapped her arms around Patrick's neck, looking into his blue eyes, before planting a kiss on his lips, one that Patrick gladly returned.
"Hey love birds!" Brooklyn yelled causing the couple to flinch. They turned to see their friends watching them. Yaz slashed Patrick one more time before walking out, helping Patrick move to the bank.
Yaz sat Patrick on a rock and the boy grabbed his prosthetic popping it back in its socket. The others joined the couple as the two were drying up.
"Hey y'all." Sammy greeted. "Having fun."
"Quite a bit." Yaz said as the two velociraptors walked up to the watering hole to take some sips. Brooklyn held up her tablet and began recording Yaz, Patrick, Ben, Sammy and Darius.
"Whoever's watching this, prepare to be amazed by these guys!" Brooklyn exclaimed.
"Are you recording us?" Sammy asked.
"Yeah! Cause someone needs to know we survived Nublar. And that..." Brooklyn started.
"That I defeated Toro!" Ben interrupted.
"And that we survived two horrible hybrids." Darius said.
"Technically three." Sammy corrected as Yaz wrapped an arm around Patrick's shoulder.
"And that this handsome cornball outran two of them." Yaz said causing Patrick to blush. "With a prosthetic BT-dubs."
"And stood up to his abusive father." Sammy said causing Patrick's smile to fade. "Oh, sorry."
"It's fine." Patrick said putting up a smile. "Don't forget Darius stopping a lunatic from forcing dinosaurs to fight."
"Yeah! So, wave to the camera people, you're kinda a big deal!" Brooklyn said causing the group to wave.
"You gonna get in?" Patrick asked.
"Nah, it's not really me anymore." Brooklyn said with a shrug shocking Patrick, in a good way.
"Guess we all changed a lot." Ben said.
"Yeah, if I told the old you that you had survived in the jungle..." Darius said.
