Y/n had always known he was different. Growing up on the Isle of the Lost with Mal as his twin sister, it was hard not to notice the differences between them. While Mal inherited their mother's cunning and fiery disposition, Y/n took after their father, Hades. He wasn't interested in causing chaos for chaos's sake but had a rebellious streak that made him a force to be reckoned with.

Standing in the pristine halls of Auradon Prep, Y/n couldn't help but feel out of place. The school was too clean, too perfect, and it made his skin crawl. Yet, there was something undeniably intriguing about the kingdom. The challenge of being surrounded by people who looked at him as if he were a walking disaster waiting to happen was more exciting than anything he had experienced on the Isle.

Despite his bad boy reputation, Y/n wasn't the type to blindly follow anyone's orders, not even Mal's. They might have shared a bond only twins could, but Y/n was his own person, and he had no intention of letting his sister dictate every move he made.

It wasn't long before he caught the attention of the school's golden girl, Audrey. Princess Audrey was everything he expected a royal to be—polished, confident, and utterly dismissive of anything that didn't fit her perfect world. But Y/n had a way of getting under people's skin, and it didn't take much for him to become a thorn in hers.

One afternoon, as he leaned casually against a wall outside the school, Audrey approached, her expression a mixture of curiosity and disdain.

"So, you're the infamous son of Hades," she said, her tone icy.

Y/n smirked, his eyes flicking over her with a mixture of amusement and challenge. "That's me. And you're Audrey, right? Princess of Auradon and all that."

"You already know who I am," Audrey replied, crossing her arms. "What I don't understand is why you're so... different."

"Different?" Y/n's smirk deepened. "I'm not like Mal, if that's what you're getting at."

"You're not like any of them," Audrey said, frowning. "You don't seem to care about anyone's expectations, not even your sister's."

Y/n chuckled, pushing off the wall to stand closer to her. "Mal's got her own plans, but I've never been one to follow the crowd. I like doing things my way."

Audrey's gaze hardened. "And what way is that?"

Y/n shrugged, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "Whatever gets me what I want."

"And what is it that you want?" Audrey asked, her voice sharp.

Y/n tilted his head, considering her for a moment. "Right now? Just to see how long you can keep pretending you don't find me interesting."

Audrey's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly regained her composure. "You think very highly of yourself, don't you?"

"Not really," Y/n replied, his tone surprisingly sincere. "I just call it like I see it."

Audrey huffed in irritation and turned to walk away, but Y/n's voice stopped her.

"By the way," he called after her, "I like the color of your dress. It suits you."

Audrey froze, her mind racing. He was infuriating, smug, and every bit the bad boy she had expected him to be. But there was something else—a charm that she couldn't quite ignore, no matter how hard she tried.

Over the next few days, Audrey found herself more aware of Y/n than she would have liked. He had a way of being everywhere, always with that infuriating smirk and those piercing eyes that seemed to see right through her. Worse, he didn't let Mal walk all over him the way she expected. He stood his ground, challenged her, and did his own thing. It was fascinating.

One evening, Audrey found herself in the school's garden, trying to clear her head. She was startled when Y/n appeared beside her, his presence as calm and confident as ever.

"Couldn't stay away, could you?" he teased, leaning against a tree.

Audrey glared at him, though there was no real malice in it. "What do you want, Y/n?"

"Just a conversation," he replied easily. "You seem tense."

"That's because you're here," Audrey shot back, though her voice lacked its usual venom.

Y/n chuckled. "I have that effect on people. But seriously, what's got you so worked up?"

Audrey hesitated, then sighed. "You."

"Me?" Y/n asked, raising an eyebrow. "What did I do this time?"

"You're confusing," Audrey admitted, her frustration slipping into her voice. "You're supposed to be a villain, but you don't act like one. You don't let anyone push you around, not even your sister, and... and I hate that I'm starting to like you."

Y/n's smirk softened into a genuine smile. "You think I don't know that?"

Audrey's eyes narrowed. "Then why are you doing this? Why are you making this harder for me?"

"Because," Y/n said, stepping closer, "you're the only one here who doesn't just see me as Hades' kid. You're trying to figure me out, and that's more than anyone else is doing."

Audrey looked away, trying to collect herself. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but it won't work. You're still a villain."

Y/n's expression didn't change, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Maybe. But I'm also more than that. And I think you see that too."

Audrey was silent for a long moment before she finally spoke. "I don't want to like you, Y/n."

Y/n nodded, understanding. "You don't have to. But if you ever want to know the real me, the offer's on the table."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Audrey alone in the garden, her thoughts more tangled than ever.

As the days passed, Audrey couldn't help but think about Y/n more and more. He was everything she had been taught to avoid—dangerous, unpredictable, and far too charming for his own good. But there was something about him that drew her in, something she couldn't quite ignore.

One night, after yet another encounter that left her head spinning, Audrey found herself standing outside Y/n's dorm room, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't know why she was there, only that she needed to see him.

She knocked, and when the door opened, Y/n stood shirtless in the doorway, his toned chest on full display. The casual confidence in his stance made Audrey's breath catch, and she couldn't help but stare for a moment longer than she intended. A faint blush crept up her cheeks as she quickly tried to regain her composure.

Y/n noticed her reaction and couldn't resist a teasing smile. "Enjoying the view, Princess?"

Audrey's blush deepened, and she struggled to find her words. "I—I wasn't... I didn't mean to—"

"Relax," Y/n said, chuckling softly as he leaned against the doorframe. "No harm done. Just nice to know you're paying attention."

Audrey bit her lip, trying to suppress the flustered feelings that were threatening to overwhelm her. "I wasn't... You're impossible."

Y/n's smirk softened into a warm smile. "Only when it comes to you."

Audrey looked up at him, her eyes searching his. "What are you doing to me, Y/n?"

"Nothing you don't want me to," he replied gently. "But if you want me to stop..."

"No," Audrey said quickly, surprising even herself. "Don't stop."

Y/n's smile widened as he stepped aside, inviting her in. "Then come on in, Princess. Let's see where this goes."

Audrey hesitated for only a moment before stepping inside, her heart racing with anticipation. She still didn't know what she was doing, but as Y/n closed the door behind her, she realized that, for once, she didn't need to have all the answers.

For now, it was enough to simply let herself feel.
