A Crumbling Society

Part 3

I spent the next few days taking the time to check in on everything else in Earthworld, it was a lot more than what I saw upon my return. Burning buildings in the horizon were nothing compared to the extreme circumstances. In the course of just about three weeks the United Nations is no longer united, in fact many of its members all killed themselves at their last event. Nobody could trust either representative, so they all decided to begin a full-on assault against one another. This threw the world into a standstill and each flight plan was canceled and rerouted. Countries are closed and anyone that is not a native citizen is either stuck or trying to smuggle themselves back. The legal system fell, allowing the riots to continue only throwing the people into further disarray. Factions now govern new state laws, and some territories are seen as bigger threats than most. Fascism and racism have increased exponentially across the country to which only a few strongholds oppose and fight to rid them from cities and other places. Terrorism has spiked as trade goods are no longer being dispensed amongst the opposing countries. Only a few cities remain and are divided based on which has more money, some also support the president in full stride. Panic has taken over and controlled the minds of those it can prey on, oppression has bantered the wealthy, and fear now reigns supreme. This whole world ate itself up and they have nobody to save them; they did it to themselves. News reporters don't even cover certain events because they were being attacked and murdered on camera along with their crews. Money is worthless and so is compassion, even the bible thumpers retreated because they couldn't get through to anyone. Everyone is fighting for things they think they need but will never gain through means of force; yet they continue on. Any channel you view will have similar coverage or just go into the stages of how we got to this point. It finally caught up to them is how I see it, my kind tried, and they shunned us because of the villains. Shut most of us up and killed the others and now look at them, they'd probably be begging for help if the heroes remained active. There hasn't been one single superhero seen in the entirety of the world falling apart. At least not since I was in Valsyri, there may be none left. From what I've seen so far, nobody is even asking for them either. The villains however walk around like they own the place, enforcing order and whatever they consider "peace". All of it is just a way to beat up on whomever they want, when they want, and they don't face punishment for it. That was mainly the only stories you saw, anything about villains and then The Society making appearances. Even in the midst of this Hell they still earn praises and of course the president is there to hold their hands.

The theory about him actually went out the door for me on account that there was no proof of it. It doesn't show that someone is controlling him or stole his looks, he acts like he enjoys all of this. Also, if he's going to allow this to go on, or, allowed it to get to this point then he's a dead man to me. I can't believe I ever stood there and shook the guy's hand and thought he was cool or that we were actually going to have him back us up. He played everybody, and won technically, I hope he sleeps at night knowing what he started. They're all going to pay eventually in some way or another, my mind was stuck on Dark Matrix for now. If I had closed the rest of her venous system, then she'd have dropped dead like I wanted. Instead, she walks free and smiles like she got away with murdering not only Liza but every other hero after her. The Society came up in quite a few stories, Antakarta is receiving another key to another city for him to destroy. Lunar Witch and Solar Knight are causing disasters on island countries to wipe out their populations. Streak and Atomica have been disarming warheads and other nuclear devices to diminish power amongst anyone but the president. Vicious, Nothing, and Null are leading advancements in countries that decided going to war was better than following a global takeover. Finally, they got to her, she's been serving as a bodyguard for the president, when she's not she's an advocate for his governing party. So, she's acting like a campaign manager when they already helped him obtain fear from the world; what a joke. It did state that she would be attending a meeting with other candidates in Felle City on Friday. Two days from now she's got a meeting with me she just doesn't know it yet. This gives me time to figure out how I'm going to end her life like she did my best friend's. Either way at any given time with my new powers I'll just do it quickly and get it over with or make her suffer. Aside from keeping up with the villains and the shitty ordeal with the people I found more things against the Legion. They were blamed for mass destruction from the fashion show and that they were wanted in Greece for the demolished temple. The school in India sided with the president and claimed Liza and I were terrorists in addition to the whole excavation crew being killed. Someone came forward and exposed Josie from the hospital saying she let us in and conspired as well, revealing she was Whirlwind from an investigation. Hers and Liza's pictures were placed on the panel for display, and they had their hero guises underneath. My picture remained the face of Summoner since I'm more isolated than the others. More accusations aided the claims to justify that it was necessary for the Warrior Legion to be killed. Right there, the confirmation stuck me like fiberglass in my bloodstream, they were confirmed dead. Not one single person cared either, they all celebrated the death of the team and basically had a party. Once they covered that they then showed my picture, putting me on blast for getting them killed, and starting these attacks. I was blamed for stirring up the people and forcing the riots, the words "murderer" were once again placed by my face. They exposed my real identity at this moment, and even covered something in relation to Hexwitches and that I brought them here. "Hexwitches are magical monsters here to suck the life out of you", which they weren't exactly wrong on the definition, but I didn't bring them.
