Part 3-8

"Yeah, but you still ran off to play magician." Phaser kept poking.

"I didn't run off, when we got ambushed by The Society it caught us all by surprise. Then we thought we had beaten them, that whole temple was destroyed, it was supposed to be a win. Of course, we had our guard down for two seconds and then Liza got shot by Dark Matrix. That's when the retaliation began, and I tried to stop them, but Castor sent me to the magic world. It was the last thing she did before she died, I would've stayed and fought and probably lost my life alongside them. She saved me, and I still don't know why..."

"Makes no difference", Fire-Soul returned her opinions, "we all did what we did or needed to do to survive. Figuring out how was the bigger purpose but we are all here now."

"I don't know", Vortex trailed in, "to me things feel weird, if he left originally then I don't see why he came back. I just don't understand why he felt he needed to be the one to get the team back specifically because it did end up costing their lives. If they were here, then we wouldn't have been put in this situation waiting around for a selfish antihero."

Phaser jumped in while standing up, "I agree, why him of all people, why did Karma choose him when there's clearly better. Anyone else could have been the one to lead us with their head screwed on. The holier than thou act is pissing me off."

Fire-Soul continued the barrage, "I can see where you're coming from", giving me a half empathetic look. "I just can't stand by the ideation that running in and killing the villains will make it better for us. Even if you didn't say it, the expense of innocent people isn't worth that much revenge either."

Screamer and Hummingbird just sat there close to each other with their jaws hanging open looking back and forth between speakers. Not one comment or breath came from either of them due to the arguing. I don't think there'd be much for them to add anyway.

"Well?", I turned to Stargazer as he was the last one to still reject what I think. Phaser stood there trying to give off an intimidating look with his arms crossed.

Stargazer finally gave his entire piece of mind, "well, I'll say this, his selfishness helped him survive. If he was still working as a hero when things started originally then there's no telling if he'd be alive right now or not. We all have our personal reasons for all the things we do, but he was right. None of us tried to get them back and thankfully he tried, even though it failed, and I'm sorry it did. The fact of that matter is that they're not here and we have to deal with it. Karma told me that I'd have to be the one to listen and understand everyone's opinions otherwise we would fall apart. She even knew that this would happen, I don't know why him either, but he's what we've got and it's better than nothing. Deep down you all know that Carson knows what to do, he's already gone up against our enemy and killed a few of them for us. That's more than any of us has done in the last several months so cut him some slack. Jacob, I'll say this one time, sit down and calm the hell down! If anyone is acting holier than anyone it's you. All Carson said was that he wanted to get revenge on the villains, he never said the civilians had to die. I personally don't feel the happiest when it comes to the people that turned on us either, it hurts, and it got a lot of friends taken and killed. I'm still going to do what I know, and feel is right, just like all of you, Carson included whether we agree with each other's morals or not. Don't you guys see, the plan has been in front of us from the start, while we get everyone to safety Carson can stop Impersona!"

I didn't thank him because it felt inappropriate for the time being, "with her being the president she's going to need guards. All of the villains will be there I have no doubt about it!

"Not all six of us can fight that many villains alone!", Fire-Soul looked concerned

Everyone took a minute to think before we heard a croak, "the boy", Hummingbird got out. When we all looked at her, she swallowed and tried once more, "the boy", she said clearer and looking at me. I asked her which boy and she mentioned the one from this morning with the school children. "What about him?", I asked her.
