Reena, Ana, Mason, and Josie all sat around the room finishing a conversation as I entered. "Good morning" we all took turns awkwardly, nobody said anything after that. I looked at Reena and told her thank you and she smiled at me; Josie was the one that spoke out and asked if I was okay. They were all looking at me now, "yeah", I said, just a bad dream and things got intense. I then apologized if anyone could hear me last night and they all said they didn't, that's when Jace entered the room and announced that it was obvious with those screams. Ana told him he didn't have to be rude, and I said it was okay. Liza came in right after I brushed it off and told Jace if he had something to say they could fight about being rude like that. He fought back with a "What?" as if he said nothing wrong and Ana cracked up, he blushed and looked away from embarrassment. The two of them sat opposite each other, I guess they hadn't talked out their differences yet. I thanked Liza and told her that wouldn't be necessary, I'll spell his mouth shut instead. The room laughed at this and Jace ordered we stop picking on him. Veleeca came in moments later and said how hungry she was, sitting next to Ana while she tasted the coffee she brought with her. Reena told everyone breakfast won't be ready until everyone is up, which means we were waiting on Andrew. "That guy could sleep forever", Ana stated with a few nods following in agreement. "Well, we could go wake him up", Liza encouraged, to which Andrew spoke out of the blue startling her, "you know my power of foresight shows me you want to do that". "It was worth the thought", she put out there before he chuckled. Cutting in, Reena announced breakfast was finally ready and some of them stood up and the ones who were standing starting heading to the kitchen first.
Over breakfast we talked about what to do when going after the Society, how they're going to stop them and reveal to the world it was them all along. There was a good bit about it before transitioning over to Archaic. Everyone started asking how that worked specifically with him having come to life the first time because of them. I put it out for them simply enough.
"The reason he came to life the first time is because as a magical being there was purpose, that purpose being all of you. The Warrior Legion meant something, and it still does. The only thing standing in the way is you guys, have you felt him wake this time?", I asked all of them. They unanimously all said no in response.
"Then that means there are unresolved problems between you, when you originally formed there was no deep connection, it was simple. That's what brought him forth the first time, but now, you all spent so much time together afterwards that it's going to take more. You built a relationship and formed bonds."
Andrew spoke, asking how they solve their problems.
I responded, "I'm not here to call out anyone, but for the sake of the world, Ana and Jace, you two have a conversation that needs having." The two of them took glances at one another and then looking away just as fast. "Veleeca, Josie, and Andrew, you three all went to live normal lives and found a different purpose. Now you have to decide if the heroics are still something you want to do, after all of this, is this where you see yourselves? Mason, you stayed in the heroics despite their being no Legion at all, I think you have the most to say so to speak. There's no telling how you really feel being the only member still fighting, it sucks but now's the time to express it. Reena, you retreated to the magic world and got into teaching to deal with losing friends, I can see it in your eyes." She looked around nervously, "you were abandoned too, and I know it doesn't feel good. After each little group says their piece, Liza, you're their leader, you have to express yourself too. Your team needs you as much as you need them. As much as many of you might not want to admit it but you all still rely on one another. If none of you can figure these things out then the team and the fate of the world are all lost, and this is just me looking in from the outside. We all have problems, and I'm not ready to talk about mine, but your time is now, so do it for each other, I know it was a hard decision but one that also had to be made. Nobody and everybody are to blame, just know that there's a chance to make it better."
