"Hello everyone, thank you for being here. I'm honored to be performing for you all and for my good friends at Vampire Psycho, I appreciate them so much! I also appreciate my bandmates so much; we couldn't be the band you all love without them! I've got a new song for you all and I hope you enjoy it, let it flow through you and just feel the energy. Move along to the rhythm and let loose!"
The crowd applauded as her and the band set up the last bit of equipment. Stools were set out and they plugged in their guitars to strum for a second. It dawned on me that I had never actually see her perform before. Stories were all anyone could mention about concerts but nothing in person. I'm not sure if Reena had seen Lazarus or maybe anyone else that I might know from Ankastle. A sort of techno pop noise started the beat, there was a mix of a zapping sound with it. Creatures shifted places so they could all get a glimpse of her; she is extremely popular, but I never thought she was this popular. Everyone in the room got quiet and she began her new song she announced.
"Pain, it's a pretty little thing"
Something within me caused my heart to pound inside my chest, similar to an anxiety attack but calmer. The first line sparked something deep within me like falling in love with her but an overcoming desperate need to be with her.
"The air, is beginning to go cold
Your spirit, starts to die
Time, it stops"
All the hairs on my body stood up in unison making the indication that I was hooked. A need rose within me making me blush at random and I wasn't sure why. That feeling of bliss from being drunk was taking control. None of it made sense because it sounded so morbid but it's making me, happy, somewhat.
"The darkness grew inside and cut me off
From everything alive
The darkness changed my world and
Now everything has died"
In all honesty, I wasn't sure what the hell was going on with me anymore. She hit the vocals with a single "Ah" and harmonized it so well. Trailing it around to fit the beat it sounded beautiful, like the best thing you could ever hear. My body is acting like there's a connection between her and I, as if I've known her in every lifetime. The urge is intoxicating, my hands are starting to hurt from gripping the rail so hard. There is no lustful desire, but one equal to that in which you'd do anything for that one person.
"Life, it seems like there's no meaning
The moon, is now my only friend"
Next thing I know, I'm heading down the stairs to my right to the ground floor. I sort of just moved on my own without thinking. It also feels like I'm being pulled and pushed at the same time.
"Trust, something you can't find
Voices, push you to suicide"
This time, when the chorus returned, I was standing at the bottom of the steps. Dusk was only thirty feet away now; something told me I was so close. My urges are worse down here, I want to run to her but there's a force telling me to walk instead. Carefully I got closer over time.
"The darkness grew inside and cute me off
From everything alive
The darkness changed my word and
Now everything has died"
Five feet from the stage as she continues the vocals and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why I was here. I never gave it a single thought to come over to her since I had never met her.
