I kept scanning the crowd for her, but I couldn't make her out to save my life. Climbing on top of a car didn't do much either because there was an army of people. Bottles were being broken as I scoured the crowd, but it only drew attention to myself being so high up. A few people pointed me out and said they weren't going to leave me out of the fight as they approached me. I quickly jumped off the car and began running off towards a very tall, very on fire building that had only two letters left of "TRUST" on it; I assumed it was a bank. The group ran after me for about twenty minutes then gave up because I was fast, I also cheated and used magic on them to slow them down. There has to be a place to stop really quick just to sense if Liza is okay. A lot of families were out here, over where the crowds had gaps before others flocked together, just sitting and watching. Most of them had young children so nobody was even trying to fuck with them. They looked like they were tired of the chaos and also that they had been living out here for years, they looked that dirty. I came around a corner from where the family row ended, and nobody was here, not a single sound or anyone really. About ten feet down the road, I stopped and turned around taking in my surroundings and that's when I tapped into my senses. There wasn't much at first, then I could hear a tiny voice saying, "get to the hospital", so I knew she was still focused on our plan. I tried to connect myself to her by looking through her eyes, but I only saw the light energy that she is made of. None of the patterns in the flow of the light indicated a problem so she was safe at least. At this point, I looked up out of feeling and saw a singular pink star in the sky shining very bright. Definitely the confirmation I needed, I pressed on. More and more groups of people appeared as I got closer to the hospital. Most looked raged, or homely, others looked starved and about on their last life. I could hear coughing and wheezing as I passed these people, this is sad, this is what bothers me the most about our world. We have people in need of the issues they endure and the illnesses that come about them and yet they still suffer. If the government is running this operation why aren't the people taken care of, or why do they have to sit here and suffer.
It also made me feel worse being, well, having been a hero before. I want to step in and try to help or figure out where to start. Unfortunately, with things in the shape they are its confusing and frustrating not being able to just show up as Summoner right now and make a difference. The fact that heroes are wanted and getting killed for making appearances definitely ruins things. I don't want any of these people to suffer but I have to let them until this vision comes to light and it's eating me up. We take oaths to become heroes, not cowards, but yet one announcement turned us all into reclusive losers, even if we have a serious reason for it too. I just hate it, I'm better than this, but if I act then all this goes away, and the legion never gets back together. It would ruin everything Liza and I have done so far; we might as well just offer ourselves up to the president to be killed publicly.
I came up to an enormous clump of people, they mostly formed a line but then trailed out into a fan. There were voices in the distance, they sounded somewhat familiar, but I really wasn't sure who or what they could be, I haven't done any heroics in a little over two years. My knowledge was lacking. I wiggled through the clump of bodies moping around and the voices got nearer. "Get in line, Step back! Show me your identification!" filled the air. I thought harder for a minute like my life depended on it because I needed to know what or who I was about to come up on. Right as I had the "oh" moment, someone moved sideways in the crowd revealing the looks of the voices. There wasn't one, but two individuals standing by a checkpoint ahead of everyone else. Atomica and VPRZR stood at the lead with smirks across their faces. These two are considered scum amongst the villains. They do whatever they want, kill, demolish, control, all on their own and its almost as if they get off to it. Some of the stronger villains of the lot and most dangerous. Atomica has the harnessed firepower of an atomic bomb, setting her powers off in the tiniest bit is enough to blow up a house. VPRZR can disintegrate anything and anyone by releasing a gas created by his own body. He can simply touch you too to kill you the same way; you feel every bit of the burn from your flesh melting followed by your muscles and then you're left as a skeleton. The two of them together make one nasty bomb, it might be why they're running this checkpoint to ensure people like me don't make it through. If they explode, this city isn't the only thing that'll be taken off a map. A clump of people near me file through and I get pulled along, now moving towards the two villains to go through the checkpoint. My biggest problem is that I don't even know where to begin to get passed them without identification and if I use magic then I risk Hexwitches figuring out where I'm at. I only used a little bit earlier, which wouldn't get them close to finding me. Making false identification for a single use, that takes a bit of magic and would risk it. Closer now with a few bumps into others beside me, I really have to decide what to do with just a few feet between me and them. I could try and fight and risk my cover and the reason I'm here, but that would only put Liza in more danger, or even Whirlwind. I'm putting all these people in danger and as much as I hate most of them for discriminating against us, they don't deserve to die. Teleporting out would just leave a trace for anyone to find and then follow me, I don't really think there's a proper solution to getting out of this and- "Hey you, I said you need to show me your identification now!". I got so lost in thought that I had inched closer, bit by bit, now it's my turn and I don't know what to do.
