Upon turning around there was a man standing here with two mages behind him, they were watching. He was about my height, had mixed blond hair and a mustache, his hands were placed at his hips to show his confidence. The guy was definitely a guild member as his marking was placed on his right bicep. I didn't get a good look of it and honestly didn't care either. The other two not so much but they wouldn't keep their stares off me. "That was a neat trick, where'd you get that kind of power?", he asked with a thunderous tone of voice. Cutting to the chase I ignored his question and asked what he wanted to which he seemed annoyed. Changing to a quieter tone he stated that he was only curious so he could thank me for my magic that saved them. Still ignoring him I dismissed him by announcing I didn't have time for this and started turning away. "Hey", he called after me, "usually you answer and don't act like an asshole! Especially when someone is thanking you". I reached up a little to grab my helmet and slid it off the crown of my head revealing my face. Both mages behind him gasped and the man received a dirty look. He seemed unaffected but one of his brows pointed inward, "you're. . ." he started. Cutting him off and finishing the sentence, "I'm Carson Deveroux, wanted for murder and a whole bunch of other bullshit that the council pinned on me. Yeah, I saved your lives, but I did it for me, not any of you, you're all in agreement that I did it, all of it even. I don't care what you have to say and I sure as hell don't care what you think anymore." Letting him have it felt good even if he wasn't the right person to go off on, he just blinked at me. Waiting just shy of an entire second, I turned away again, and it looked like he decided against trying to speak again. Rising off the ground I took my departure and got clear of all the fighting. It was pointless to try and argue my side to a grunt in this whole wrongdoing, he follows the council like most of Valsyri. There's nothing wrong with that since that's how we are raised here but it would've gotten me nowhere. Fixing up Valsyri seemed a little bit important in the smallest sense so that I can come back and prove I was framed. Soaring higher the people below me looked like ants moving on schedule, tapping into the magic in the ground I repaired the shield. Similar to the one they originally had but this time it will hold. Placing my helmet back on it was time to get back to business, once I was ready, I teleported back to Ankastle.

Half of the academy had been blown to pieces at this point, debris lying all over the place and flames everywhere. Whirling and zapping sounds kept occupying the air as Mages, Staff, and students all fought for their lives. This place was my home for many years, I'm not going to let anything happen to it anymore. I checked the sky, it was contaminated with smoke and ash, but I decided it wasn't going to be. Instead, changing the pressure and precipitation a giant storm felt better. It would put the fires out but also allow energy flow to give back the amount of magical energy that's been lost by casting. A charge storm to better the odds, after the clouds formed the thunder began to boom and flashes were now starting. Waiting for the momentum to build between the atoms I circled above, bringing some attention to myself. Casting slowed down but the physical fighting continued on, just a few more minutes and we were good. Clouds stretched for miles covering a lot of land, it looked like Valtera but without the red filter. More academy members grouped below to face a cluster of creatures closing in. As soon as the first bolt of lightning coursed down to the ground I started my fall, flying with the bolt. Before the tip could touch, I ripped up from landing and continued to trail the creatures. They must have all come from the forest, now that I was closer there were more than what I saw from above. Hitting through a few Ghouls they separated from the front line, this also caused the other side to do the same. It provided me room to use my next attack, returning down from where I came, I let it out. A beam of dark energy projected from my body and hit the first few rows of monsters. Spending some time like this and aiming to my best ability knocked a good bit of them out. Their bodies combusting and dispelling into energy as the beam traveled in my path. This bought me some time to speak with the fighters so that they knew what to do next.
