Sayako's breath came in ragged gasps as she focused all her remaining energy on sealing the thunder beast's soul. The pain was unbearable, an agonizing fire that tore through her very being as the beast's essence fought against the containment. It thrashed and roared within her, a wild and relentless force that sought to break free, but Sayako refused to let go. She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms as she channeled the cursed energy, forcing the beast's soul deeper into her own.
The process felt like an eternity, each second a new wave of torment, but she couldn't stop now. She had to finish it-had to seal the beast completely or risk everything. Her body trembled, her vision blurred with tears of pain, but she pushed through it, drawing on every ounce of strength she had left.
Finally, with one last, desperate surge of cursed energy, Sayako felt the beast's soul succumb. It was as if the world itself stilled for a moment, the air around her growing deathly quiet. The soul, once so wild and uncontrollable, was now bound within her, sealed away in the deepest part of her being.
The domain around them shattered like glass, collapsing inward as the power sustaining it dissipated. The void gave way to the cold, hard ground of the cave once more, and the oppressive darkness lifted, leaving Sayako standing alone in the eerie silence.
The beast's presence had vanished completely, erased from existence. Sayako swayed on her feet, her body trembling from the exertion. She could feel the echo of the beast's power within her, a heavy, overwhelming weight that threatened to crush her from the inside. But she had done it. The beast was gone- defeated, sealed away, never to terrorize the world again.
But the victory had come at a terrible cost. Sayako's energy was utterly spent, her body broken and battered from the fight. Her vision swam, dark spots dancing at the edges of her sight. The last thing she saw before everything went black was the faint glow of the Yurechi Clan's necklace, still pulsing with a gentle light as if reminding her that she was not alone.
Sayako's body slumped to the ground, her consciousness slipping away as she finally succumbed to the exhaustion. The cave fell into complete silence, the only sound the faint, irregular rhythm of her breathing.
Meanwhile, across the lands, the disappearance of the thunder beast's presence sent shockwaves through the cursed energy realm. Every special grade sorcerer, every special grade, powerful cursed spirit felt the sudden loss of such a formidable creature. It was as if a beacon had been extinguished, leaving an unsettling void in its place.
Yōko, deep in meditation far from the battle, felt the disturbance immediately. Her eyes snapped open, a sharp intake of breath betraying her surprise. The beast was gone, but how? Who could have possibly defeated something so powerful?
The cursed spirits, too, were thrown into disarray. Whispers of fear and disbelief spread among them, for the thunder beast was one of the mightiest entities to have ever existed. To think that someone- something- had the strength to overcome it sent a ripple of dread through their ranks.
In the distant mountains, Sukuna sat on his throne, his eyes closed as he contemplated the darkness. But the moment the beast's presence vanished, his eyes snapped open, glowing with a sinister light. A twisted smirk curled across his lips as he slowly rose to his feet, a dark thrill coursing through him.
The beast's demise intrigued him. There were few in the world capable of such a feat, and Sukuna's curiosity was piqued. Who could have accomplished this? What kind of power did they wield?
Uraume, who had been standing nearby, sensed the shift in the air. They glanced at Sukuna, their expression neutral, but they could see the hunger in his eyes. Whatever had happened, Sukuna wanted to see it for himself."What happened?" Uraume asked cautiously.
Sukuna waved off the question with a dismissive flick of his hand, his smirk deepening. "Nothing that concerns you," he replied, though the excitement in his voice was unmistakable. "Prepare yourself, Uraume. We're going hunting." { Beta reader: selfish ass ugly king of curses or whatever }
Uraume understood without needing further explanation. They nodded, swiftly moving to follow Sukuna as he descended from his throne, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. Whoever had defeated the thunder beast was now on Sukuna's radar, and he was eager to meet them face to face.
Back in the cave, Sayako laid unconscious, her body crumpled on the cold stone floor. The battle had taken everything from her, and now, she was left alone in the dark, her only companion the faint glow of the necklace still hanging around her neck. It was a miracle that she was still breathing, her chest rising and falling shallowly as the remnants of the fight slowly faded from her body.
But despite the pain, despite the exhaustion, a small, peaceful smile graced her lips. She had done it. She had won.
And somewhere, deep within the forest, Sukuna was coming....
