Beta reader: THE TITLE WDYMMMM
The shrine was far too quiet, the silence weighing heavily on Sayako's chest. Sukuna had been gone for a week, and every day without him felt stretched and hollow. The shrine wasn't meant to be this still, without his presence, it lacked the usual energy. Sayako had done her best to keep busy, but with Ryo always at her side, her worry only grew. She trusted no one with him, not even the maids. Shirogane had been acting strange lately, more withdrawn, and that unsettled her further. { beta reader: bro...}
One evening, after finally managing to take a bath, Sayako returned to their room. She stepped inside, towel in hand, already thinking about how she'd cradle Ryo, but as her eyes darted to his crib, she froze.
It was empty. { beta reader: please dont be what i think it is, please dont be what i think it is ,please dont be what i think it is, please dont be what i think it is. please dont be what i think it is, please dont be what i think it is }
Her heart stopped for a moment, her breath catching in her throat. Panic washed over her like a tidal wave. Where was he? Ryo had never left her side, not for a second. Sayako's pulse began to race as she searched the room frantically, her eyes scanning every corner.
"Ryo?" she called, her voice tight with rising fear. She tossed aside the towel and ran to the next room. "Ryo, where are you?" Her voice echoed through the halls of the shrine, growing more frantic by the second.
The maids weren't around. The halls were deserted. Her pulse was pounding in her ears now, her mind racing.
How could she have left him alone? How could she have let this happen?
Suddenly, a voice from the shadows made her stop.
"He's with me."
Sayako whipped around, her heart in her throat. Standing at the far end of the hall, bathed in the faint evening light, was Shirogane, cradling Ryo in his arms. A wave of relief crashed over her, so intense that her legs nearly gave out beneath her. She almost sobbed in sheer gratitude.
"Shirogane," she gasped, taking a few unsteady steps toward him. "I thought... thank the god. I couldn't find him. I-" { beta reader: i swear if he does something }
Her words faltered as she noticed something off in Shirogane's expression. His usual stoic demeanor was there, but there was something else. A strange coldness in his eyes that she had never seen before. { beta reader: god please no }
"Give him to me," Sayako said, her voice softer now but filled with a mother's protective urgency. She reached out her arms to take Ryo back, desperate to hold her son close.
But Shirogane didn't move. He simply stood there, unmoving, watching her with an unnerving calm. { beta reader: bro just why }
Sayako's heart skipped a beat, dread creeping into her chest. "Shirogane... give me my son," she repeated, her voice trembling slightly now. Something was wrong. Deeply wrong.
Still, he didn't give her.
Before she could react, Shirogane's hand shot out, grabbing her wrists with a force that took her breath away. In one swift motion, he yanked her forward, locking her arms behind her back with brutal precision. { beta reader: BRO }
"Shirogane!" Sayako cried, her voice filled with shock and betrayal. "What are you doing?" Her knees buckled as she fell to the ground, the impact jarring her bones. Her arms throbbed from his iron grip, but it was nothing compared to the terror surging through her. She struggled against him, trying to break free, but he was too strong. { beta reader: impact? you mean genshin impact?? okay im sorry }
"Let me go!" she demanded, her voice frantic. "Give me Ryo!"
Shirogane's face remained emotionless as he tightened his hold, keeping her pinned to the ground. And then, with a cold, detached motion, he looked down at Ryo in his arms.
"No," Sayako breathed, her voice cracking with desperation. "Please, no- don't-"
But her pleas fell on deaf ears.
Shirogane's hand moved, and with terrifying precision, he ended Ryo's life before Sayako's eyes.{beta reader: WHAT THE FUCK }
For a moment, the world went still. Sayako's mind couldn't process what had just happened. Her vision blurred, her ears ringing as if the very fabric of reality had torn apart. Her son. Her baby.
"No," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "No, no, no... Ryo..."
Her chest heaved as she gasped for breath, but nothing came. Her soul shattered into pieces, each one burning with unimaginable pain. She thrashed, struggling harder, screaming now with all the energy left in her body, but Shirogane's grip remained unyielding.
"NO!" she shrieked, her voice breaking into sobs, but it was too late. Ryo's lifeless body hung in Shirogane's arms, limp and cold.
The air around her thickened, suffocating her. Her mind couldn't grasp the horror unfolding before her. She had failed. She had lost the most precious thing in her world. Her baby was gone.
Back in the Yurechi clan, miles away, Yuna was pacing their home, an unsettling feeling gnawing at her insides. She couldn't shake it, couldn't ignore the dread building up in her chest. Something was wrong. She had felt it all day, a strange pull, like a warning.
She stopped suddenly, her heart racing, and turned to Akito, who had been watching her silently, concern etched on his face.
"We need to go to Sayako," Yuna said, her voice urgent. "Now."
Akito frowned. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know," she admitted, her hands trembling slightly as she spoke. "But something's wrong. I can feel it. I just... we need to go. Please."
Without a second thought, Akito nodded, grabbing Yuna's bow and arrows and handing it to her . "Let's go."
They set off immediately, their journey toward Sukuna's shrine filled with an ominous silence. Yuna's gut told her that something terrible was happening, something she couldn't stop.
Back at the shrine, Sayako's body crumpled on the cold floor, her spirit shattered beyond repair. She couldn't move, couldn't think. Her entire world had just been ripped apart, and all she could do was lie there, lifeless, as her son... her beautiful, innocent Ryo.... lay dead before her.
Tears streamed down her face, but they weren't enough. No amount of tears could ease the agony tearing through her chest. Her child was gone, and with him, a piece of her soul had died.
Sukuna's son was gone.
And so was the light in Sayako's heart.
