Sayako strolled down the hallway, her usual playful grin plastered on her face, as if she hadn't just narrowly avoided committing a crime of passion yesterday. That whole Yorozu-flinging-herself-at-Sukuna incident? Ancient history. Today, she was ready to reclaim her peace and her rightful place in teasing Sukuna's soul into oblivion.
She swung open the door to his room with enough pep to rival a sunbeam. "Good morning, Sukuna!" she sang out, bouncing into the room as if she hadn't spent the night plotting Yorozu's mysterious disappearance. (I promise she's just in good mood not because she killed yorozu)
Sukuna glanced up from his futon, immediately clocking her mood with a raised eyebrow. "Someone's in a good mood." He smirked, already sensing that today was going to be interesting. "Finally snapped after yesterday, huh? Decided Yorozu was too much for your delicate little heart?" { beta reader: I'm feeing bitter today and I'm finding this annoying }
Sayako gave him a look that could melt steel. "Oh, I've moved past that. You, on the other hand? Looking awfully mopey today. Miss her already?"
"Please," he scoffed, "I'd rather listen to Uraume talk about pickling vegetables for three hours."
Sayako snorted. "Pickles might have more personality than Yorozu, so I don't blame you."
They bantered back and forth, Sayako swiftly moving to his futon side to begin changing his bandages. The usual routine, except today, her hands were lighter, faster, her teasing sharper. Sukuna noticed the shift, of course, and couldn't resist poking at her.
"So, did you dream about me last night? That would explain why you're so giddy," Sukuna mused, trying to sound bored but failing miserably. { beta reader: no shut up }
Sayako didn't miss a beat. "Why, yes, I did. In my dream, you were begging me to leave you alone." { beta reader: nice }
"Hmm," Sukuna hummed, "Sounds like a nightmare. For you."
"Please, the real nightmare is me having to deal with your wonderful personality every day," Sayako fired back, tying off the bandages with a flourish.
Sukuna rolled his eyes. "You love it."
Sayako paused, mockingly considering it. "Eh, delusional."
Sukuna burst out a laugh, a genuine one that made Sayako's chest warm. "You're insufferable," he muttered, though there was no malice in his tone.
"You know you'd be bored without me," Sayako replied, packing up the last of her supplies.
"Maybe. But I'd be peacefully bored."
With a final wink, Sayako left Sukuna's room, humming to herself as she made her way to the kitchen. Today, she had a mission. A bold one. She wanted to cook for Sukuna. And who better to guide her through the labyrinth of culinary arts than Uraume, Sukuna's personal chef and the only one brave enough to tell him when his taste buds were wrong { beta reader: stop remember what happened at the tree house }
She found Uraume carefully chopping vegetables with the precision of someone who could slice through space and time with a well-placed knife. "Uraume! I need your help!" she called out, already rolling up her sleeves. { beta reader: no girly please }
