As the laughter and conversations carried on, a sudden shift in the atmosphere signaled the arrival of someone important. The crowd instinctively parted, and soon, Queen Izayoi emerged, her regal presence commanding immediate respect. Without hesitation, everyone, Sayako, her family, Yuna, Akito, and the rest, bowed low in reverence to the queen.

Everyone, except for one.

Sukuna, arms folded, remained standing tall, unbothered by the royal entrance. He was, after all, a king himself. His expression was a mixture of pride and defiance, the very essence of Sukuna.

Queen Izayoi arched an eyebrow as she approached him, amusement sparkling in her eyes. "Still too proud to bow, I see, King Sukuna?" { Just hit him with a cane and burry him }

A playful smirk tugged at the corner of Sukuna's lips as he shot her a mock glare. "Kings don't bow, Izayoi."

The queen chuckled softly, the sound warm and knowing. "Well, I suppose I'll let it slide this time. But only because it's you." {beta reader: she's too nice }

Sayako, still bowed low, looked up at her queen, her heart swelling with gratitude. The queen's presence always had a way of making her feel both comforted and honored. Rising slowly, she took a deep breath, then stepped forward and bowed even lower than before, this time out of deep respect and personal gratitude.

"Thank you, Queen Izayoi," Sayako began, her voice soft yet sincere, "for gifting me the Yurechi Clan's necklace. It... It brought back Sukuna's memories. I wouldn't have him back without it."

At that moment, the emotions caught in Sayako's throat, and her eyes glistened with unshed tears. The weight of everything- the battles, the lost time, the pain, pressed on her chest. Sukuna had been restored to her, not just as a powerful king but as the man she loved. It was something she could never truly repay.

The queen smiled kindly at Sayako, the love of a mentor and protector shining through. "You've always been strong, Sayako. You would've found a way, with or without the necklace. But I'm glad it helped."

Sukuna, standing beside Sayako, rolled his eyes and let out an exaggerated sigh. "Ah, all this sappy stuff. Do we really have to get so sentimental?" { beta reader: this guy doesn't know how to read the room }

The queen shot him a knowing look. "Don't act so tough. I'm sure you were tearing up when you got your memories back."

Sukuna narrowed his eyes at her playfully, a mischievous smirk forming on his lips. "Tearing up? Me? Please. Must have been dust in the air."

Sayako, catching onto his teasing tone, gently nudged him with her elbow. "Right, and I suppose the 'dust' just happened to get in your eyes when you hugged me back then too?"

Sukuna raised an eyebrow, leaning down close to Sayako's ear and whispering with a grin, "Careful, woman. I still outrank you."

Sayako giggled softly, her earlier emotions balanced by the warmth and humor in the air. The entire interaction between the two made the others smile, and even Queen Izayoi couldn't help but laugh at Sukuna's ridiculous bravado.

"You two really are perfect for each other," the queen said, shaking her head lightly.

As the moment settled, the emotions lingered like a soft hum. Sayako's heart felt full, knowing that not only had Sukuna been restored, but she had the support of her clan and queen, people who cared deeply for her. This reunion was more than just the return of her lover; it was a reminder of everything she had to fight for, everything worth protecting.

And in that moment, despite Sukuna's teasing and defiance, he reached out and squeezed Sayako's hand, a silent acknowledgment of everything they had been through and everything they still had ahead of them.
