Shirogane's blade was cold against Sayako's throat, the metallic touch sending a chill down her spine, but she couldn't feel anything, nothing but the weight of her loss. His voice was harsh and ragged, full of twisted pain as he spoke.
"I loved you," he hissed through gritted teeth. "But you... you never looked at me the way I wanted you to. All I ever wanted was for you to see me, Sayako. But instead... instead you gave Sukuna a child. I couldn't stand it. I couldn't bear seeing the two of you together, raising that... that boy. I had no choice." { beta reader: ....man i had a feeling but i didnt want it to be right }
Sayako stared at him, her purple eyes void of any emotion, completely hollow. She didn't know what to feel anymore. The world seemed to blur around her as his words washed over her. Love? Was that what had driven him to this madness? Her mind, still reeling from the loss of Ryo, couldn't comprehend his jealousy, his twisted justification for killing her child. She didn't know how to respond, or if she even wanted to. Every part of her felt numb.
Shirogane's hand tightened on the blade, his eyes dark with intent. "If I can't have you, then no one can." He pressed the edge of the blade a little harder against her skin, ready to end it all.
Just as Sayako thought she would feel the final cut, an arrow flew past, grazing Shirogane's cheek with deadly precision. Blood welled up where the arrow had left its mark, and he stumbled back in shock, his grip on Sayako loosening as his eyes snapped to the shrine's entrance.
Yuna stood there, her bow drawn taut, green eyes blazing with fury. Her entire body radiated a seething hatred, directed solely at Shirogane. { beta reader: YESSS YUNAAA AHHHHH }
"You sick bastard," she spat, her voice sharp and venomous. "How dare you."
Before Shirogane could react, Akito surged forward, faster than Shirogane could process. He slammed into Shirogane, knocking him to the ground with a force that left Shirogane gasping for air. Akito's red eyes were burning with rage as he pinned Shirogane, pressing his knee into his chest, one hand gripping the front of his kimono
"Explain yourself!" Akito demanded, his voice cold and dangerous. "What the hell were you thinking, Shirogane? Did you really believe you could get away with this?"
Shirogane glared back, a twisted smirk forming on his face despite the blood trickling down his cheek. "Sukuna's not here. I knew this was my only chance."
Akito's grip tightened, his knuckles turning white, but before he could lash out further, Yuna rushed to Sayako's side. She dropped her bow and knelt beside her best friend, her heart breaking as she took in the sight before her.
Sayako looked... broken. She was staring ahead, her eyes distant and empty, tears silently falling down her pale cheeks. In her arms, Ryo's lifeless body rested, cold and still. The sight tore at Yuna's heartstrings, each second feeling like a knife twisting deeper. {beta reader: bro i hate shirogane WHY KILL THE CHILD WHAT DID HE DO?? }
Yuna's hands trembled as she gently lifted Ryo from Sayako's arms. She could feel the coldness of his skin, the absence of life, and it shattered her inside. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Sayako, knowing that no words could ever heal this wound. This wasn't just pain... this was the kind of agony that no one should ever experience.
"Oh, Sayako..." Yuna whispered, her voice barely audible through her tears. She placed her hand on ryo's lifeless body and used her reincarnation cursed technique, hoping against hope that it will work on him even though he's already dead.
