Pain

"Mom, seriously? I've heard about her cases!  Baka mamaya it will make fake scenarios in my cousin's mind!" Umalingawngaw ang boses ni George sa sala.

Sandali akong lumabas para silipin kung nariyan na ba ang babaeng mag hihipnotismo sa akin ngunit hindi ko aakalaing ito ang aking aabutan.

"Hijo, it's the only way to regain her memories! Can't you see? I'm trying to help her!" It was auntie who's trying to defend herself.

Nanatili akong nakatayo habang pinapakinggan sila. Hindi ko na alam kung nasaan ngayon ang kapatid kong si Lucio dahil kanina ko pa siya hindi mahagilap.

I heard George's heavy sigh. "If you're trying to help her, don't destroy her mind, mom. I know what you are trying to do. Hypnotizing her doesn't mean it will be effective. Let's stop this drama, mom. You're not like this..."

"Why are you doing this, hijo? Hindi ko alam kung anong iniisip mo at kaya mo akong ganituhin! Gusto ko lang tulungan ang pinsan mo! She lost her family and her memories and I just want to help her as her auntie!"

Biglang tumahimik ng ilang segundo ang buong bahay.

"I know what you're trying to do. Hindi ako bulag. Please...kahit ito lang, mom...stop the hypnotherapy. She has a trauma...it will just trigger her."

I was eagerly listening to them, hoping that I would hear something about my past. Hindi ko alam kung anong tinutukoy niyang trauma ngunit hindi maiwasang gumaan ang aking pakiramdam dahil sa kabila turing ng kaniyang mga magulang sa akin ay tinutulungan niya parin ako.

"You probably forgot that I am your mother, George. I did not raise you to be like that. I gave you everything so don't ever teach me what to do." Kalmado ang boses ni auntie ngunit nagsusumigaw sa galit ang tono nito. "Huwag na huwag mo akong kakalabanin sa lahat ng ginagawa ko, George." With that, I heard her heavy footsteps, walking away.

Sinilip ko si George na nakakuyom ang kamao na may lungkot sa kaniyang mga mata. I could feel how heavy it was for him.

He loves his mother but he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't stop her. And that what's hurt him.

Bumalik na muli ako sa aking kwarto pagkatapos ng nangyari. Maya maya pa ay may nag bukas na ng pinto. Akala ko ay ang taong mang hihipnotismo sa akin ngunit nag taka na lamang ako at si George iyon. Mabilis niyang isinara ang pinto na ikinagulat ko.

"George? Okay ka lang?" takang tanong ko sa kaniya.

Mabilis niya akong nilingon at lumapit. "What ever happens, Lucy do not let the hypnotist, hypnotized you."

There's something about him that I couldn't figure out. Parang may mali.

"Ano bang meron?"tanong ko parin.

I am aware that the moment I am being hypnotized, some of my memories will regain—even my traumas. However, there are also possibilities that it would create fake scenarios in my mind.

Guminhawa siya nang malalim at umupo sa may sofa na tila ba dala dala ang problema ng buong mundo.

"I'm sorry..."that's the only word I could utter.

Maybe it was me who ruined their family. If I could just bring my old self back to where I am now just to finish this problem.
