𝐇e paced around the unconscious soul, sat—tied—on the sofa-chair.
“My love, I didn't want to discomfort you. See? I tied you at a much comfortable place than a chair.” He twirled her hair in his fingers, inhaling the scent. Apples and strawberries.
He wanted to wait until she wakes up. He wanted to make sure that she knows and feels what he is about to do to her. That she is fully conscious while he castigated her.
“What did I say? Your Utkarsh didn't come to save you, did he? And if he comes, if he puts his fucking nose in my business…I'm gonna kill him for sure. And I'm gonna make you mine…forever.”
Then he sat in front of her, on the table, admiring her. She had her hair on her face, her face oddly abietating, her lashes spread on her cheeks. Her head was low, facing her lap and her hands tied in front. Her upper torso was tied to the sofa-chair on which she was sitting.
Even in her most miserable state, she looks ethereal.
“My love, my life, I am yours. Make me yours and we shall conquer the world together—only if you obey my wish.” He keeps on giving her instructions, even though he knows she cannot hear him. He seems unbothered.
“We shall live far, far away from India. I'll take you to Bali. Or maybe to Italy. Wherever you want. And we will make a small family together. Not much, six to seven—maybe eight kids, and then we shall live happily, ever after.
“And now…it's time for you to wake up! Wake up, my love.” He patted her cheek, looking at her like a psycho. “Wake up, you bitch!”
He shook her violently, making her stir up. She looked at him wide eyed, trying to untie herself. “What do you want, Kelvin?!” She glared at him, while he, he looked at her adoringly.
“I miss this attitude, my love. But now, you'll be mine, and I won't have to miss that, right?”
“You motherfucker! I'm never gonna be yours. Never, understood?”
“Fuck, this sass. These cursing words. I'm so much in love.” He closed his eyes, feeling how she cursed to him. “But baby,” he gripped her hair and lifted her face up, his face close to hers, “you should obey me. Or I'll kill Utkarsh.”
That made her soften up. “U…Utkarsh?”
A small smile played on his lips. A small, yet an evil smile. “Yes. I have him captive like you, and you will have to see his dead body if you disobey me. Wanna listen?”
He left her hair and took his phone out. An audio played on his phone, the voice similiar to Utkarsh's. “Shubhlakshmi, please marry Kelvin. Otherwise he will kill me! I don't want you! Please…”
She couldn't believe her ears. Was this a lie?
All the promises, love, and respect, was that a façade? No.
“This is fake, I bet!” She wanted to believe it was fake. And she believed Utkarsh would never do that.
Kelvin laughed at that. “I knew that you didn't want to believe me. But it is true, no matter how you interpret it. And besides, if you won't believe that, I'm gonna have to use the second option.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Second option?”
“If you will refuse to be my wife, I will kill Utkarsh and his brother. And your parents as well.”
She rolled her eyes. “Utkarsh will never let you do that, you asshole!”
He slapped her hard. “Darling, as much as I love your defiance, tone down your attitude. Or else I'll kill you right now, forget all those love promises.”
She knew being with Kelvin would not be a very good idea. She knew, that one day, Kelvin will kill her. But she didn't have any option left. Or…had she?
“I knew the second option won't work as well. I have a third option too.” Seems like Kelvin had all the backup plans ready with him if Shubhlakshmi declines. What a pathetic psycho.
Shubhlakshmi winced. “Oh don't make a face like that, my love. Let me give you the third option. Do you love Krish?”
She panicked. “Leave Krish. If anything happens to him—”
“Tsk tsk tsk, love. Don't panick. He is safe.”The door of his bedroom opened, and Krish came, running to be in Shubhlakshmi's arms. “Shu!” He exclaimed joyfully.
Shubhlakshmi's hands were tied, and Krish's smile turned to a frown. She laughed, “Oh don't worry, baby. It's just I and Kelvin are playing.”
“Of course, Krish. Tell her how I gave you tons of chocolates? Hm?” Kelvin patted Krish's head, and he smiled and nodded in return.
Shubhlakshmi smiled, but her hands were trembling. She took a deep breath, and asked, “Untie my hands,” her voice getting softer, “Please.”
Kelvin's smile and joy had no limits. He untied her, and she picked Krish in her arms.
“So?” Kelvin raised an eyebrow, and Shubhlakshmi nodded.
“I will break the engagement with Utkarsh.”
Love can make you do anything—even sacrificing yourself.
