Jungkook had always lived a life of luxury. Born into wealth and privilege, he was the apple of his parents’ eyes, doted on from the moment he entered the world. Jeon Namjoon and Kim Seokjin were not only successful but deeply affectionate parents. They had built an empire from scratch, but more importantly, they had built a home filled with love and care for their only son. From his very first memories, Jungkook never knew what it was like to want for anything.

Everything Jungkook ever desired was handed to him on a silver platter. His childhood was a dream, filled with lavish birthday parties, expensive toys, and trips to exotic destinations. His parents spared no expense when it came to his happiness. The best tutors were hired to guide him, and even though he was naturally intelligent and excelled in everything he tried, Jungkook never really understood the true value of hard work. For him, life was effortless, like the smooth ride of a luxury car on a well-paved road.

There was nothing he couldn’t have. If Jungkook wanted a new car, he’d have one delivered to their doorstep the next day. If he fancied a trip overseas, his bags would be packed, and a private jet would be ready within hours. From clothes to gadgets, to even experiences, all Jungkook had to do was ask, and it would be his.

His parents called him their “little prince,” but it was his mother, Jin, who truly indulged him like royalty. “You’re my princess,” ,he would say with a doting smile, ruffling his hair as if he were still a child, even though Jungkook was now in his mid-twenties. Namjoon would often follow suit, smiling fondly as Jin pampered their son. It wasn’t uncommon for them to spoil Jungkook; it was their way of showing how much they loved him. After all, they had worked so hard to build this life, and all they wanted was to share their success with him.

Despite his sheltered upbringing, Jungkook wasn’t arrogant or spoiled in the conventional sense. He wasn’t one to look down on others, and he never demanded anything with malice. In fact, Jungkook was soft-hearted, always kind to the people around him. He treated the house staff with respect, and he always made time for friends, sometimes hosting extravagant parties at the family estate just to make sure everyone had a good time. His gentle nature made it easy for people to love him, and in return, Jungkook loved them back, though he didn’t fully understand the weight of the privileges he enjoyed.

Jungkook’s life was a bubble—safe, warm, and blissfully detached from the harsh realities most people faced. He had never heard the word “no.” Never had to think twice about spending money or questioning where it came from. Money, to him, was like air: always there, abundant, and invisible. He didn’t know what it meant to struggle or to work endlessly just to make ends meet. That wasn’t his world, and while it made him appear out of touch, it wasn’t his fault. His parents had protected him from hardship, wanting nothing more than to give him a life free from worry.

But this protection came at a cost. While Jungkook had the heart of a prince, he lacked the understanding of how the world truly worked. He had never witnessed the grind or sacrifice that his father, Namjoon, had gone through to build Jeon Enterprises. He had never been in a situation where he had to choose between dreams and responsibilities. To him, the world was limitless. He had been raised with the mentality that there was always more—more money, more opportunities, more ways to get what he wanted.

When it came to love, Jungkook was equally oblivious to the complications that surrounded it. His engagement to Hwan Inseyeop had been arranged for him by his grandparents, and he didn’t think twice about it. For Jungkook, love had always been something that would fall into place. Just like everything else in his life, he assumed that marriage would simply be another part of his perfectly structured existence. He didn’t object to the engagement, nor did he feel any strong emotions toward it. Inseyeop was someone he barely knew, but in Jungkook’s mind, that didn’t matter. They were both born into the same privileged world, and that seemed like enough.

Jungkook had never experienced the turmoil of a broken heart or the pain of unfulfilled love. He had never been told he couldn’t have something or someone. The concept of wanting something that wasn’t within reach was foreign to him. Why would it be? His life had always been carefully crafted and curated by his parents and grandparents.

Yet, despite all of this, Jungkook had an innate kindness that made people gravitate toward him. His friends loved him for his generosity and his carefree spirit. His parents adored him for being the gentle soul that he was. Even strangers could feel his warmth in the way he treated those around him. There wasn’t a malicious bone in Jungkook’s body. He was soft-spoken, polite, and caring—qualities that made him seem almost perfect, like a prince in a fairy tale.

But behind that princely facade, there was something Jungkook had never been taught: the value of struggle. He had never faced adversity, and while his kind heart made him endearing, it also left him vulnerable. His lack of understanding about how the world worked meant that when life eventually threw him a curveball, he wouldn’t be prepared to handle it.

Jungkook’s parents often worried about this. Namjoon, especially, had tried to prepare his son for the responsibilities that would come with running the company one day, but Jungkook always brushed it off. “There’s time, Dad,” he would say with a bright smile, not realizing that Namjoon was trying to teach him about the realities of life—realities that weren’t always pleasant.

Jin, on the other hand, was more indulgent. She often coddled Jungkook, treating him like her little princess, even when it was clear he was a grown man. She couldn’t help it—Jungkook was her baby, and she couldn’t bear to see him face the hardships of the world.

And so, Jungkook continued to live his life in the bubble his parents had created for him. A life where money was never an issue, where love was something arranged by family, and where everything seemed to fall into place without much effort. Little did he know, the perfect world he had always known was about to change. And when it did, Jungkook would finally learn what it meant to fight for something real.
