_________________Jungkook brought out the tea with some snacks, moving gracefully around the room to serve each guest. When he handed a cup to Ji Ho, he felt the young man brush his thumb over his hand a subtle but unmistakable gesture. Jungkook immediately pulled his hand back, his polite expression replaced with a sharp, warning glare. Taehyung, noticing the exchange, shot Ji Ho an equally intimidating look, his eyes cold and intense. Sensing their combined displeasure, Ji Ho chuckled nervously, quickly diverting the attention with some random chatter, trying to diffuse the tension.
Meanwhile, Jae Min had turned his attention to Hoseok, whose warm smile and confident presence were hard to ignore. After learning that Hoseok was both a Jeon and the owner of the prestigious Purple Ocean Boutique chains, Jae Min's tone shifted, laced with a newfound respect. He casually attempted to strike up a conversation, eager to ingratiate himself with someone so influential in South Korea's business circles.
At the same time, Shin Hari's sharp eyes flickered with interest when she overheard that Jungkook was the sole heir to the Jeon family's considerable fortune. Her calculating gaze settled on him, her mind racing with possibilities.
Jungkook took a seat next to Taehyung, handing him a cup of tea with a soft smile. Taehyung accepted it, his hand naturally resting on Jungkook's waist as he offered a gentle, polite smile in return. Though subtle, the touch conveyed his warmth and silent reassurance, grounding them both in the moment.
Feeling Taehyung's hand at his waist, Jungkook relaxed, his slight tension easing as he glanced around the room.
Shin Hari's tone shifted to a new level of sweetness as she turned to Jungkook, her eyes sparkling with feigned warmth. "Jungkook-ah, such a handsome and refined young man you've grown up to be," she praised, smiling as if in admiration. "I always knew the Jeons had excellent genes, but you truly take it to another level. You're not just smart but clearly so thoughtful and polite, too."
Jae Min chimed in, nodding as if in agreement. "And so responsible! Running a family business isn't easy, yet I hear you're quite the dedicated worker," he said, his voice laced with admiration. "The Jeon legacy is certainly in good hands with someone as capable as you."
Jungkook offered a polite smile, not entirely buying into their sudden warmth but keeping his usual calm demeanor.
Jungkook smiled politely at Shin Hari, gently correcting her with a calm tone. "Oh, Aunt Hari, I don't handle the business myself," he explained. "It's really Eomma and Appa who manage everything with Taehyung Hyungs support." He glanced warmly at Taehyung, a sense of pride clear in his eyes.
Taehyung nodded, reaching out to give Jungkook's hand a reassuring squeeze. "I just do my best to help where I can," he added humbly, though there was a protective note in his voice as he looked back at Shin Hari.
Shin Hari's smile faltered slightly, her original intent thrown off by Jungkook's words. But she quickly masked her surprise with another sugary smile. "Ah, of course, of course," she nodded, trying to regain her composure. "It's just wonderful that the family has such a strong support system. You two are really quite the team."
Jae Min nodded in agreement, chiming in with a friendly tone. "Absolutely! And Jungkook, even if you aren't directly involved, just knowing that you're the future of the Jeon legacy must feel empowering, doesn't it?"
Jungkook remained polite, but his calm smile didn't give much away. He sensed their sudden interest but chose to keep things reserved, leaning slightly into Taehyung's reassuring presence.
