The next morning, Jungkook woke up early, feeling energized by his plans. After freshening up, he headed to the kitchen and began baking a cake for Taehyung's birthday. Today was going to be special, and Jungkook wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Not only did he have a cake in mind, but he'd also booked a train to Daegu, where they would spend time with Taehyung's family and friends. Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, and Jimin would be joining them, along with Hoseok and his wife, Yoonji. It would be a beautiful week together, celebrating Taehyung surrounded by loved ones.
Though Taehyung's parents couldn't make it to Seoul due to ongoing issues with a village land dispute, Jungkook had planned the visit as a surprise, knowing how much Taehyung missed his family. The situation had been tricky-Taehyung and Yoongi had secretly sent money to the village head, a powerful figure with influence over the locals, to ease the pressure on Taehyung's parents. No one else knew about this gesture except Taehyung, Yoongi, and now Jungkook. Taehyung's parents had asked him to stay in Seoul for safety, but Jungkook knew this trip would bring them peace of mind and time together.
As he finished frosting the cake, he suddenly felt strong, familiar arms wrap around him from behind. Taehyung, still half-asleep and shirtless, hugged him close, resting his chin on Jungkook's shoulder.
"Good morning, bun," Taehyung murmured, voice warm and husky from sleep. "What's all this?"
Jungkook smiled, leaning into Taehyung's embrace, feeling the warmth radiating from his husband. "Just... making something special for my favorite person," he replied, trying to keep the surprise under wraps.
Taehyung's eyes sparkled as he noticed Jungkook wearing one of his shirts, looking adorable as it hung loose around his frame. "You know, you look way too cute in my clothes," he teased, kissing Jungkook's cheek. "And what's this about a cake? Did you wake up just to spoil me?"
"Maybe I did," Jungkook giggled, turning his head to catch Taehyung's gaze. "You deserve it. It's your birthday."
Taehyung tightened his embrace, touched by Jungkook's thoughtfulness. "Thank you, bun. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Jungkook felt his heart flutter. He gave Taehyung a quick kiss before nudging him. "Go get ready. We have a little trip planned."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "A trip?"
Jungkook just grinned, putting the finishing touches on the cake. "Yes, but no questions. Just trust me, okay?"
With a chuckle and a nod, Taehyung went to get ready, his heart full of excitement. Little did he know, this would be a birthday to remember.
Jungkook got ready in the other bathroom, feeling a little tired but excited for the day ahead. He had secretly packed their bags the previous night without Taehyung noticing. He even made a few middle-of-the-night phone calls to finalize the surprise, starting with Namjoon and Jin, who were thrilled to hear about the plan. However, calling Yoongi at that hour had been a bit risky-Yoongi had barely answered, groggy and annoyed, thinking it was Taehyung waking him up.
"Hyungie, it's me, Jungkook!" he whispered, trying not to laugh.
Yoongi grumbled, "You better have a good reason for this, Kookie," but as soon as Jungkook explained his surprise trip to Daegu, Yoongi's irritation faded. He even apologized for the initial reaction, but Jungkook waved it off, knowing it was his fault for calling so late.
Next, Jungkook called Hoseok. He knew his cousin wouldn't be asleep since Hoseok and Yoonji had an unusual schedule-Hoseok was a night owl, and Yoonji didn't mind. Sure enough, Hoseok answered with his usual cheer. "Yo! Bro-in-law, what's up?"
