After their conversation about the room, a comfortable silence lingered between Jungkook and Taehyung. For the first time in the evening, Jungkook felt like he could breathe a little easier, knowing that Taehyung was open, kind, and thoughtful. As they sat side by side on the edge of his bed, Jungkook couldn't help but wonder more about the man he might marry. He had shared so much about his own life, his family, and the difficulties he was facing. But he realized he knew almost nothing about Taehyung's family.Taehyung, sensing Jungkook's curiosity, looked at him with a soft smile. "You seem to be deep in thought. What's on your mind?"
Jungkook hesitated for a moment before speaking, trying to find the right words. "I... I've told you so much about my family already. You know how complicated things can get here. But I was wondering, if you don't mind, could you tell me about your family?"
Taehyung's expression brightened at the question. He was always happy to talk about his family, the people who shaped him into who he was today. "Of course, I don't mind. I guess it's only fair you know more about me, too."
He shifted slightly to face Jungkook more fully, his smile growing warm as he began. "I come from a small town. My father is a farmer and an agriculturist. He's always been passionate about the land, about growing things and taking care of the environment. He taught me a lot about hard work and patience. My mother, on the other hand, is a schoolteacher. She's kind and patient, and she has this way of making everyone around her feel like they're special."
Jungkook listened intently, his eyes locked on Taehyung as he spoke. There was a softness in Taehyung's voice when he talked about his parents-an affection that made Jungkook feel warm inside.
"I also have an older brother," Taehyung continued, his tone turning a little playful. "His name is Yoongi. He's a musician, a producer actually. He's always been this quiet, thoughtful type, but when it comes to music, he's incredibly passionate. He and his husband, Jimin, live here in Seoul too."
Jungkook's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Jimin? Your brother's best friend?" he asked, a smile tugging at his lips.
Taehyung nodded, chuckling. "Yeah, they've been best friends since childhood. It was only natural they ended up together. Jimin is a fashion designer-he works for a fashion company here in Seoul. He's this incredibly talented, creative person. I've always admired how both Yoongi and Jimin have followed their passions so fearlessly."
Jungkook smiled, a feeling of ease settling over him as Taehyung spoke about his family with such love and pride. "It sounds like your family is really close," Jungkook said softly, feeling a bit envious of how easy and supportive Taehyung's family seemed compared to his own.
"We are," Taehyung agreed. "We've always had each other's backs, no matter what. My parents, Yoongi, and Jimin-they're all really supportive. I think they'd love you, Jungkook."
The sincerity in Taehyung's voice made Jungkook's heart flutter. The thought of meeting Taehyung's family, of being welcomed by them, was comforting in a way he hadn't expected. There was something about Taehyung that made him feel safe-like maybe, just maybe, he could build a life outside of the expectations and pressures that had been placed on him.
"I'd love to meet them someday," Jungkook admitted quietly, feeling a warmth spread through him at the thought of stepping into Taehyung's world.
"And they'd love to meet you," Taehyung replied, his eyes soft and full of affection. "Especially my brother. Yoongi might act all cool, but he's a softie at heart. And Jimin? He'll probably be all over you, asking about your style and how you keep your hair looking so perfect."
Jungkook laughed at that, feeling the tension in his body ease further. "I'll look forward to it."
For a moment, they sat in silence, the weight of their future still looming, but now there was something else there too-a connection that felt real, tangible. They were no longer just two people trust together by circumstance. They were beginning to understand each other, to share pieces of themselves.
