Namjoon stood from his seat, feeling a sense of contentment settling in his chest. He turned to one of the maids nearby and spoke in a calm but firm voice, "Please go call Jungkook. Tell him to come down."

The maid nodded quickly and disappeared up the grand staircase, leaving Namjoon and Seokjin sitting across from Taehyung. The tension that had been present earlier was now replaced with a sense of relief and quiet excitement. The future of their son, which had seemed uncertain just hours before, was now beginning to take a new shape.

As they waited, Taehyung continued to speak warmly with Namjoon and Seokjin, his boxy smile lighting up his face. His gentle demeanor seemed to relax the entire room, his calm presence a balm to the stress that had weighed on the Jeon family earlier. He was the picture of grace, effortlessly kind and charming, without a hint of arrogance.

Upstairs, Jungkook was pacing in his room, still processing everything that had happened in the past few days. The broken engagement, the cruel words of his grandparents, and now this-his parents had called for him to meet someone tonight. He had overheard bits of their conversation earlier but had tried to keep his distance, unsure of what to feel.

When the maid knocked on his door and informed him that his parents were waiting, Jungkook took a deep breath and made his way downstairs. As he reached the top of the staircase, he paused, his heart suddenly racing in his chest.

There, sitting in the living room with his parents, was a man with the most radiant smile Jungkook had ever seen

There, sitting in the living room with his parents, was a man with the most radiant smile Jungkook had ever seen. Taehyung's boxy grin spread across his face as he spoke, his deep voice warm and pleasant. He looked relaxed, his broad shoulders leaning slightly forward as he engaged in conversation with Namjoon and Seokjin. His soft brown eyes sparkled with kindness, and the way he carried himself, so composed and elegant, made Jungkook's breath hitch.

Jungkook had met Taehyung before-briefly, in professional settings where they had exchanged only polite words. Their interactions had always been formal, with Taehyung's reputation preceding him as someone disciplined and respectful. But tonight, for the first time, Jungkook saw him differently. This wasn't just Taehyung, the man he had met in passing. This was Taehyung-the man his parents had chosen for him. The man he might be marrying.

As Jungkook stood on the staircase, his heart began to beat faster. He found himself admiring Taehyung in a way he had never allowed himself to before. There was something about the way Taehyung carried himself-confident yet unassuming-that drew Jungkook in. His gentle smile, the kindness in his eyes, the calm strength in his posture... all of it made Jungkook's chest tighten with an unfamiliar but welcome warmth.

Could this man really be his? Could he be the person Jungkook would spend the rest of his life with?

Before he knew it, Jungkook was standing there, frozen in place, simply watching. He couldn't take his eyes off Taehyung. And for the first time, the idea of marrying someone didn't feel like a burden or a duty. It felt... right.
