Marinette's pov :

"And we are...done. " Nick said writing the last number. "Well done." I said giving him a high five. He grabbed my hand and held it. "We got interrupted before." He said and pulled me towards him. 
I put my arm against his chest to create space. "A-about that.Listen, Nick I... I don't think I can be more than friends with you. If you had the feeling that I lead you on than I'm sorry.", he let go of my hand a bit disappointed.
"Is there someone else?" He asked. "No..I.. don't know why but I can only see us as friends.","What? " he asked confused. "I enjoy your company but..", "You don't need it." He said a bit said.
"I'm sorry I just don't want to get your hopes up. That wouldn't be fair. ", "Well anything can happen. " He answered.
"Who knows maby I can persuade you some day.", "So.. you're not mad?", "A bit sad, but it's fine....... UMS3? "
"Yes please." I said with relieve.

Tim's pov:

"Five past seven. Why?" , "I have to get home. I promised Nick to help him study again." She said grabbing her stuff.
"Wait. Again? How often do you.. Oh why am I even asking you're gone anyway." I growled.
I took my stuff and walked out. When I reached the door I bumped into Dick. "Sorry." I muttered.
"All good.  Need a ride casanova."."Drop dead.",
"Okay okay I'm sorry. But seriously come on." He laughed and put an arm around my shoulder.
When we sat in the car I leaned my head against the window. We drove for a while when he asked "Why so grumpy? Did you guys break up?",
"Almost 20 month ago." I laughed un amused. Dick hit the break so hard that I banged my head. "Ouch! Dude?!"
"Sorry sorry it just caught me of guard. I was joking. 20 month ago?..... How?".
I sight "We... met when she was 12 and I was 13 and about a year later we got together. I messed up one time and she dumped me. ". "And you never told us about her because....?","I wanted to have someone that was just for me and who loves me not because of my family." I answered still looking out the window.
"Ok makes sense....", "There is something else you want to ask. " I knowtest.
He cleared his throat "I just don't want any miscommunication. When you said earlier that you guys weren't further than sleeping in your un...","Yes we were intimate.","Mhmokayalrightythen.".
It got quite again.

"I'm sorry I just have to ask. Do you still.... you know..love her?" For some reason his question sounded hopeful.
"I.. 'sigh'  I mean it's Marinette. ....How can I not.".
"Why don't you talk to her then? And I don't mean as red Robin like you usually do.", "How did you...?",
"O pleas. Don't you think we get suspicious when you turn of your suits tracker every time after patrol and vanish for an hour or more before coming back with that stupid grin on your face. " he laughed as we reached the manor.
"I think I'm to late anyway." I groaned and unbuckled myself. "Right that guy she had a date with. ","
Mhm." I answered getting out of the car. I walked to the door and opened it.
"Come on man there is still a chance for you." Dick said walking in behind me.
"I think that right now she likes my alter ego more than me. And she and Nick meet almost every second day. " I said taking off my jacket and went towards the living room.
"Tim. No person can just ignore the kind of bond you guys had. Being intimate with someone is getting to know a person better anyone else. There will always be a soft spot for you. You just have to remind he.... " we stopped in our tracks as I opened the living room door because Damian starting back at us with wide eyes seemingly having heard everything.  "Upsy."Dick smiled sheepishly. "Good evening." He said intrigued.
"No." I said turning around and going upstairs to my room.
I was to tired for this and just wanted to go to bed.
On my way I saw Mar'i peeking out of her room. We made eye contact and I crouched down.
"Mar'i? What are you doing out of bed?", she came out into the hall in her PJs and a teddy in her arms and ran towards my open arms."What's wrong kiddo?", "I can't sleep. Mummy didn't check the closet."
I gasped " Mummy didn't check?",she pouted and nodded her head.
"Okay let's get rid of this monster once and for all. Wait here." I said and ran to my room and grabbed one of my socks putting it under my shirt and ran back. I picked her up and walked into her room.
I sat her down on her bed and walked up to the closet.
"Alright list up you....monster. I'm giving you to the count of 3 to come out or else I'll drag you out myself." I said with a stern voice.
"1...2.....3." I walked over to the closet and took out the sock and pulled it over my hand.
"Hhhh Mar'i! Mar'i come here I've got it! Help me hold it down! ", I screamed and rolled on the floor. She ran over and grabbed it.
"Oh now it makes sense.", "What? What makes sense?",
"Why it's so upset. Look it's eyes are missing. I'd be upset too.","That's sad. What do we do?".
"Hmmm. I know! Remember the funny googly eyes in your drawer.". She gasped. "I do!" And ran to her drawer.
"Want to put them on?","Mhm.". I held the sock still as she put on the eyes.
"There we go. Now it doesn't look so scary anymore .Actually he looks a bit silly.", "Hey don't be mean." She frowned.
I laughed and gave her the sock.
"Alright come on short stuff." I put her into bed and tucked her in. "You think you can sleep now? ". She nodded.
"Is Marinette coming soon? I miss her.". I looked away and shook my head."I miss her too.".
"Uncle Timy. Are you sad?" She asked looking into my eyes.
"A bit. But I'm going to be alright. Now it's time to go to sleep. Good night shorty.". I said and kissed her on her forehead.
When I was about to leave the room I heard her small voice."I love you Uncle Timy.","I love you too kiddo.".
