Today, Ava arrived late at the office. As she put her bag down and began her work, she learned that her boss—her husband—wanted to see her. She went directly to his office.
Standing in front of him, she greeted him with, "Good morning, Sir."
He responded with a simple, "Hmm."
"Are you always this late?" he asked.
"No, it’s not usually like this. I overslept, which is why I arrived late. It won’t happen again." she explained.
"Alright, but make sure it doesn’t," he said, pausing to look up. "And while you’re here, bring me a cup of coffee."
"You brought me here early in the morning just to get you a cup of coffee?" she asked.
"Yes. Why? Do you have any problem with that?"
"No, not really, but you could ask anyone to bring you coffee. Why me?"
"True, I could ask anyone, but don’t you enjoy bringing coffee to everyone? Besides, this is your payback, so I can ask for whatever I want."
"Fine, I’m leaving. No need to keep reminding me," she said, leaving the office with an annoyed huff.
When she returned to the office with a cup of coffee, she found her husband absorbed in his work. Gently placing the coffee on the table, she kept her eyes fixed on him. He noticed the cup and then glanced at her, catching the adorable pout on her face. It made him smile, but the smile quickly faded into a more neutral expression as their eyes met. Taking a sip of the coffee, he felt her unwavering stare on him.
“What, you want coffee too?” he asked.
“No, I don’t,” she replied.
“Then why are you staring at me like that?”
“I’m not staring at you. I’m just waiting for your next order, okay?” she said, her annoyance visible.
“Oh, I see. You can go; I only drink coffee once a day.”
“So, you just want me to bring you coffee? That’s it?”
“For now, that’s it,”he said, turning his attention back to his cup.
She sighed in annoyance and turned to leave when he called out, “Just so you know, your coffee is excellent,”
She glanced back with irritation. "Thank you! sir, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you need another cup, just let me know!" she said curtly before walking out.
He couldn’t help but chuckle.
Every morning, she brings coffee to her husband, a routine that has become a part of her daily life. While she doesn't mind making coffee for him, especially since it gives her a chance to see him everyday, but the situation is different at the office. There, his behavior tends to irritate her. Yet, despite this, she finds some happiness in the fact that she gets to spend time with him.
Lately, he had discovered that she got annoyed very easily, and he took great pleasure in teasing her.
