"Kim Taehyung, do you take Park Ava to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I DO" he spoke with a blank expression, his eyes betraying no emotion.
"Park Ava, do you take Kim Taehyung to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I d-do" she spoke slowly, and th...
The rain pattered insistently against the window as Ava sat on the edge of her bed, her heart racing, a smile playing on her lips as she replayed the moment in her mind: his lips brushing against hers, twice. "He kissed me again! Why does that make me so happy?" she whispered to herself.
A soft laugh escaped her, but it quickly turned to frustration. "Wait, what are you doing? He cheated on you twice, Ava! You’re being ridiculous."
She buried her face in her hands, feeling the warmth of her cheeks. "This is so messed up. You’re smiling like a fool, but he doesn’t even know you’re his wife!"
"How can I feel this way when he doesn’t even know who I am? It’s not right!"
Running her fingers through her hair, she groaned. "Ugh, this is so complicated. Did he love me too the way I love him?”
A wave of longing washed over her. "Or was it just a fleeting moment for him? I can’t keep doing this to myself."
Just then, a sudden sneeze broke her reverie. She glanced down at her wet clothes, a mix of irritation and urgency rising. "Okay, focus. Change first, deal with this later. But seriously, how did it come to this?"
With a sigh, she opened her closet. "You can’t keep smiling like a fool when he’s out there. Get it together, Ava," she murmured, heading to the bathroom.
It had been an hour since she went to the bathroom. Tired of waiting, he finally knocked on the door. When she opened it, he noticed his expression change to worry. Her eyes were filled with tears, her nose red, and she held a handkerchief, ready for another sneeze.
"You don't look well," he said, concern etched on his face.
She laughed nervously. "Oh, I'm fin—" but was interrupted by another sneeze. "I'm fine; I just don’t handle rain well."
He frowned, guilt washing over him. "I’m so sorry. I didn’t know. If I had, I wouldn’t have kept you out here."
"No, please don’t apologize—" she started, but another sneeze interrupted her.
"Forget that. Come here,” he said gently, taking her hand and leading her to the bed. He sat her down and covered her with a warm blanket. "I made some vegetable soup for you. It’ll help you feel better," he added, gently stroking her forehead before heading to the kitchen.
He returned after a few minutes, carrying a bowl of soup. Sitting down, he carefully took a spoonful, blowing on it lightly before offering it to her. How could she not love the guy in front of her when he treated her this way?
"Here’s my special soup!" he announced, trying to sound confident.
"What happened? You don’t like the soup?" a sudden voice broke her thoughts.
"No, no, it’s not like that," she said, her smile unwavering.
"Okay then, taste it and tell me how it is!"
Ava took a cautious sip, her eyes widening slightly as the saltiness hit her tongue. She paused, then forced a smile. "It’s… good," she said, trying to hide her reaction.
"Really?" Taehyung took a sip of his own and immediately grimaced. "Oh no! I’m terrible at cooking!" He laughed, shaking his head in disbelief.
Ava giggled, her laughter filling the room. "It’s not that bad! Just a little… salty!" she insisted, determined to support him.
"Maybe we should just order something else," he chuckled. She nodded in agreement.
As they browsed the menu together, their playful banter and shared laughter turned the salty soup into a fond memory, wrapping them in warmth and connection.
