The wind was fierce tonight, howling across the deck of the Victoria Punk like a wild beast unleashed. Above, the sky was a roiling mass of dark clouds, mirroring the mood below. Amidst this chaos, you and Kid stood near the helm, your argument piercing the storm's roar.

"Why is it always my fault?!" you yelled, your voice straining against the gale. "It wasn't just me out there, Kid! We all share the blame, or do you only see what you want to?"

Kid's expression was thunderous, his red hair plastered to his forehead by the rain, his metallic arm glinting eerily in the sporadic flashes of lightning. "I expect you to be better" he shot back, his tone like a whip crack. "We can't afford your mistakes. Not here. Not in the New World".

The rest of the crew was conspicuously absent from the main deck, likely taking refuge below or in the shadows, their presence marked only by occasional furtive glances. They knew better than to intervene, the tension between you two had been a smouldering fire for days, now whipped into an inferno by the storm and recent failures.

"I'm just as much a part of this crew as anyone else!" you retorted, the sting of his words cutting deeper than the sea spray on your skin. "Or have you forgotten all the times I've had your back? When will you trust me, Kid?"

His eyes narrowed, a flash of something more vulnerable flickering behind the anger, quickly smothered under a scowl. "Trust doesn't excuse incompetence!" he barked, his voice almost lost to a thunderclap.

That was the last straw. Feeling a mix of anger, frustration, and a heart wrenching sadness, you turned on your heel and stormed away, the wood of the deck slick beneath your boots. You needed to escape, to breathe air not tainted by the bitterness of the argument.

Left alone, Kid stared after you, his jaw clenched so tightly it was a wonder his teeth didn't crack. With a snarl, he punched the railing, his metal fist leaving a visible dent in the sturdy wood, a testament to his frustration and pent up rage.

The storm inside him was no less turbulent than the one battering the ship. As the rain drenched him, mixing with the sweat on his brow, he cursed loudly, vehemently. He cursed the sea, the storm, the recent failures, and most of all, he cursed himself for driving you away when every fibre of his being screamed just how much he needed you by his side.

Killer, having watched the last part of your clash with Kid, caught up to his captain before he could do more damage to the ship, or to himself. "Kid, don't take it out on the Victoria" Killer spoke up, his voice unusually calm in the face of Kid's barely contained fury. "Go talk to her instead. This isn't going to fix itself".

Kid shot him a glare that could curdle blood, but something in Killer's steady gaze made him stalk off toward your quarters instead of unleashing more of his wrath on the innocent surroundings, he hadn't even meant to hurt the Victoria in his anger.
