The day you joined up with Kaido you had eyes for the masked man. Something about his eyes seemed so trustworthy, sweet almost. Never towards most people but when he interacted with some, like you, his eyes held a lot of expression.
You enjoyed his company, you found yourself often seeking him out, for a conversation, you could listen to his voice for hours, you often times found yourself wondering what he looked like under the mask, but you knew better then to ask or find out for yourself.
You settled for just his eyes, his super pretty eyes. Being a doctor for the crew you got to treat a lot of people, but King was never one of them.. not until the raid.
That horrible day, you watched as always as he fought, and you rooted for him from the sidelines, he was doing well for a while, you loved his devil fruit and he was beating Roronoa up until he wasn't.
You found yourself running, panting as you ran down the hallway towards where the fighting was, and you got out just in time to see a flash and King was sent flying. His mask had been broken but you didn't get a good look, but you didn't care, you ran to him, you could treat him, help him.
You ran and ran until you found him, you knelt down where he was laying you noticed his face, his pretty white hair and beautiful features that you never would have guessed laid behind that mask, but it didn't matter you had to help him.
He was unconscious but you started examining him. Bruises, cuts, broken ribs, you could help him. Half way through bandaging him up he let out a grunt and a cough. "Y/n?" He questioned as he tried to sit up to look at you.
"Yeah don't move. You're in bad shape" you answered him, as you dabbed at some of his cuts with the supplies from your backpack. He laid back down at sighed.
"Thanks you're always here when I need you.. I appreciate it". Your heart leapt as you heard those words, he needed you. "I'm a doctor it's what I do" you looked into his eyes again, still as beautiful as ever, and smiled.
For the first time ever, you got to see him smile back.
