It was late, the crew was passed out up and down the ship, the wind caressed your skin as you just calmly listened to the small waves lulling against the Red Force. The moon reflected on the ocean causing a pretty glow across the ripples. You looked out for a minute until you felt a grab at your hips and someone talking in your ear from behind.
"You know it's called a moonglade". You'd recognise that voice and playful tone anywhere. You turned your so you could get a good look at your red headed captain, under the moonlight.
"What is?" You asked softly, as his eyes looked from yours to the ocean. "The moons reflection on the ocean" he replied calmly. Like the others he too had been drinking since his eyes opened in the morning, but his tolerance was scarily high. He should've been swaying harder than the ship right now.
"Moonglade huh? Where'd you learn that?" You smiled, amused by his fact. He grinned. "Someone important told me that, when I was young". You had a good feeling about who he was talking about, and honestly he didn't mention him often, but he had this fondness in his voice anytime he did mention him. His old captain.
"I see.." you looked out at the moons tracks in the ocean, the way it almost sparkled. "What made you remember that?" You questioned, ready for some silly answer. He seemed to pull a face as if he was pondering for a moment.
"Because I've watched the ocean every night since" he replied, tightening his grip on your hips, and coming to rest his head on top of yours. Your lips twitched into a small smile at his answer and gesture, you grabbed his hands off your hips and wrapped his arms around yourself.
For a moment the two of you stood in a comfortable silence, until he kissed your forehead and then spoke up. "It's freezing, let me warm you up in bed". You rolled your eyes, you could already imagine the dumb smile on his face just from his tone of voice.
"Is that as innocent as it sounds" you turned around in his arms to look up at him, and noticing the drunken smile on his lips, your thoughts had been correct. He let out a small laugh, knowing he had been caught.
"It's just a suggestion" he wiggled his eyebrows at you, pulling you closer to his chest. "I mean obviously we don't need to go to the cabin, but I'm not sure about the audience" he joked, earning a slap on the chest from you.
You pulled away from him and laced your fingers with his. "The captains cabin it is then" you mumbled as you led him away.
