You groaned as your makeup had taken yet another wrong turn, and you were now wiping it off in anger. "Stupid damn stick" you threw the eyeliner down huffing. You heard a creak in your doorway, looking up you saw Izou stood with his arms folded and a small smile on his face.
"Want some help?" He spoke up. You felt slightly embarrassed but nodded. Honestly it was kind of an honour to have your makeup done by Izou. He crossed the room and sat beside you. "Look up at me and close your eye" he ordered, as he picked up the eyeliner you had just so rudely thrown across the room.
You had been spending a lot of time with Izou since you joined the crew, and one thing you had always admired was his makeup. "How'd you ever get so good" you mumbled as he gently applied the eyeliner to your eye.
"I'm not that good, I keep my own routine fairly simple. Though I did have a sister I practised on a bit" he smiled as he spoke, as if he could see the memory as he talked. "Really?" You asked shocked. You weren't even aware he had a sister.. then again you had never really asked too many personal questions.
He nodded. "Close the other one" he gently moved to apply eyeliner to the other eye for you. You followed his instruction, closing the eye. Once he finished he held your face gently. "Okay open" he spoke up. You fluttered your eyes open looking up at him.
"Perfect" Izou complimented. "You've got lovely eyes anyway, but this brings out the colour" Izou continued. Your face felt very warm at the compliment. "Thank you.." you spoke just above a whisper before looking down at the rest of your makeup. "Could you uh.. maybe do the rest" you gingerly asked.
He let out a small breathy chuckle and nodded. "Sure I can" he grabbed some more of your makeup and helped to apply it. "So why the sudden interest in makeup" Izou asked. You were usually not one to wear it, clearly, by how bad your skills were. You shrugged. "I just wondered how I'd look with it" you told him truthfully.
He smiled. "I think you look good with and without" he commented, putting some blush on your cheeks. You felt your stomach flutter from another compliment, he made you feel all jittery. "Thank you. That's sweet of you" you spoke once you composed yourself enough.
Izou nodded and then tilted your chin getting in close to apply some lipstick. Your breath hitched, which didn't go unnoticed by Izou, though he didn't mention it. The lipstick slid over your lips, coating them in the pretty red tone. "Well, all done" Izou carefully let go of your face, looking over his work.
Your heart was beating. "Thank you for doing that Izou" you looked up at him as he placed his hand on your head in a patting motion. "Anytime, if you need help again you know where I am. You look really cute like this". Your heart practically leapt out your chest at his parting words, you watched him walk away, and you packed your makeup away, ready to follow him out on deck like a puppy.
