A New Years Kiss with your crush!

You knew Luffy had no idea about the tradition of kissing at midnight, just like he had no idea about your true feelings, but you were determined to make it happen. You wanted to go into the new year with him.

The Strawhats had decided to throw a small party to celebrate the new year, so drinks and food were pumping out fast and you had found yourself in a drinking contest with Zoro to calm your nerves.

As the sixth or seventh, you had lost count, came your way, the swordsman not even a slight bit tipsy, you decided to give him the win. You didn't want to be passed out on the floor throughout the celebrations.

You carried yourself, not so gracefully through the music that Brook had recorded on the tone dial, and made your way over to Luffy. "You look like you need this". You looked up to see Robin holding a glass of water out to you, which you graciously accepted.

"Thanks Robin" you drunkenly smiled. "It's 11:57pm, if you're going to make your move on our captain, I'd suggest doing it soon" she informed, with an all knowing smile and a wink. You couldn't be sure how she knew, you were very secretive in your plans, but nevertheless you thanked her, making your move toward Luffy.

You waved him down as he had finished the last of his meat, you weren't sure if it was his smile or the alcohol that made your knees wobble, but you didn't mind.

"Y/n, you look drunk" Luffy cackled, probably from never seeing you in such a state. At all the parties the crew has attended you had never drank so much so quickly.

"I am" you admitted laughing with him. "I needed to be so I could ask you this" you started, the familiar nauseating feeling of nerves bubbling inside.

"Ask what?" He questioned. "Will you be my new years kiss?" You quickly blurted, hoping he'd catch it all. "Kiss?" He questioned, cocking his head to the side. You nodded blushing.

"Sure" he smiled, immediately calming the nerves and jitters. "Really?" You asked, a little shocked that he'd agree so quickly. He let out a big grin. "Why not" he shrugged.

"You know what it means right? The person you kiss at midnight is the person you want to strengthen your relationships with, the person you want to be with" you explained, weeding a small confession in between your sincere words.

"Ohhh, then we should kiss then right?" He beamed, bashfully placing a hand on his hat. You nodded blushing, as the countdown began behind you.

You counted down the last few numbers, 3.. 2.. 1.. then you planted your lips on his own soft lips. It was quick, inexperienced and clumsy. Yet it was perfect and everything you wanted from the night.

It was especially worth it to catch a glimpse of your captains face as you pulled away, that being the first sight of the new year.

Zoro
"Mind if I take a seat?" You asked, already crouching to sit beside him before receiving an answer. He opened his eye to watch you, before humming his approval.

"Not celebrating with everyone else?" You asked, noting his absence from the festivities in the galley.

"Not with that cook trying to kiss anything that moves" he huffed in annoyance. "Besides I've got this" he smirked, holding up his bottle of sake. You smiled. "You plan on sharing?".
