I was excited because today was the coronation of the king , I woke up extra early to make sure the castle was in perfect condition and everything was set up properly. I was born here my parents were part of the in-house staff and I made it all the way to head maid and it's been like that for about a year but nothing this big has ever happened since I've lived here

As I was helping rearrange some furniture when a soldier from the royal guard let me know the prince was summoning me so I went over as soon as possible. I only open the door when I hear a faint "come in" from the other side

Prince Louis and I grew up together, I was one of the only other kids in the palace and he was spoiled rotten so when he asked his father to play with me I was by his side every day after that

I said walking into his room to see that he was in the shower

L: yeah um my father told me your working really hard, take a break

P: he's been planning it for a while , he's been setting up dates with eligible princesses he think would suit me

Y/n: that's very traditional, I didn't know they still arrange marriages

P: it's not arranged, it's like a blind date but I have an option to decline

I let out a sigh, the prince and I have a complicated relationship, I like him and I feel like he likes me but we both cherish our bond that have now and don't want to bush the boundaries. I know being with him is almost impossible and I'm okay with that

Y/n: well have you met someone who you like yet ?

L: yeah , but I'm nervous to tell my father she's not a princess

Y/n: that's against the rules

L: I'm about to be the king , I can change the rules

Y/n: ok, i didn't know that finding a queen was your priority , do i know who the commoner is?
I joked

L: commoner?
He said slightly annoyed, Ik he doesn't care about status and I was just teasing

I turned over to see him on one knee

And i scratched my arm up pretty bad , I remember now

L: yeah well that was the first day I knew that I had found the person I'd want to rule my land with
