Temptations

The sun tempts the grass from beneath the earth.

Each blade rises slowly, pointing upwards.

All worshipping the great celestial fire.

They stand in reverence to her warm beauty.

The moon tempts the water from the ocean.

The waves grow each night that she reveals more.

The oceans hunger for her grand fullness.

Every drop longs to know the moons embrace.

The music tempts people to start dancing.

They feel the rhythms pulsing in their bones.

Soon the body moves to an unknown will.

Our desires live in a place without words.

Death tempts me to close my eyes forever.

To feel the aches and pains drain out of me.

To drown all unpleasant thoughts in silence.

Death is the most powerful seductress.
