Erica was now a werewolf, the bite had took, and it changed her immediately, made her more confident to the point where her whole wardrobe and Stiles loved to see it.

Stiles: She seems so happy now
Derek: glad to hear. But aren't you supposed to be in class?
Stiles: texting you is more fun😉
Derek: you really should pay attention idiot
Stiles: 😶 but who would annoy you if not me?
Derek: 🙄 I'm turning my phone off now...
Stiles: party pooper

Stiles sighed as he placed his phone back in his bag, drawing his attention back to class.

It has now been a week since he got grounded and Stiles found that as each day passed he missed Derek more, he was such a goner if he couldn't even go two weeks without seeing the man, what had gotten into him?

Sitting at the cemetery was rough for Stiles, today was the anniversary of his mother's death and every year he had to spend it alone, Scott had offered to be beside him but Stiles could not bare it when he just wanted to be alone or at least spend it with his dad but he always got drunk and sometimes became violent so Stiles stayed away even when he was supposed to be grounded he just had to sneak out, this day always made him feel so depressed and he just missed his mom,

"Stiles?" A familiar voice asked behind him, "Are you okay? I thought your dad wouldn't let you leave?"

"Today he doesn't care," Stiles sighed as he looked over his shoulder to Derek, "Today is the anniversary of my mothers death, I'm the furthest thing on his mind," Derek now had a frown on his face as Stiles watched him move to sit beside him but seemed to change his mind mid walk,

"That is unfair to you," Derek whispered, "I'm sorry, I know it must be hard, if you need to be alone I understand,"

Normally he needed to be alone on this day but seeing Derek beside him he just couldn't find it in him to turn away, when did he become so close to this man that he would be willing to spend the hardest day of the year with him when he turned his best friend away?

"You can stay, please," Stiles found himself saying after a long moment, "What were you doing here anyway?" Stiles asked as Derek sat beside him,

"I usually come here once a month to pay my respects to my family," Derek sighed as he took a seat on the nearest clear patch of grass, Stiles couldn't imagine how Derek must feel when he comes here alone, it made Stiles want to hug him but he had to stop himself,

"I couldn't imagine your pain," Stiles frowned as he sat down beside Derek, "I just lost one person, while you," Stiles trailed off,

"Your pain is just as important as mine, don't go comparing your loss to mine," Derek went to reach out as if to rub his back but stopped himself and smiled, Stiles hugged his knees,

"My dad is probably drinking himself crazy right about now," Stiles looked down, "I don't know if I can deal with that right now,"

"If that's the case then I think you should probably find somewhere else to be tonight," Derek said to him, "You could stay at mine if you want,"

"Really? I usually just sneak up through my window," Stiles told him, "I don't want to burden you, I am used to how he is," Stiles kept his eyes glued to the ground, "And I am grounded, so if he were to check up on me in a drunken rage then I'd just get grounded for longer," And I would be away from you for longer, Stiles thought to himself,

"Is he a angry drunk?" Derek asked him, "Does he become violent?" Derek looked at him with such intensity that Stiles had to look away, the worry that marked that mans face had Stiles feeling things he just couldn't explain,

"Not overly, but there has been times where I had to go to Scott's," Stiles sighed, he hated admitting such a thing but this was Derek, how could he lie?

"Then I think that you should stay at my place, You can stage pillows on your bed and hope your dad doesn't suspect anything," Derek told him, "I don't want to see you hurt and I'm not meaning physically,"

Stiles nodded, not sure where to even start, how could he even begin to express what this meant to him? No one ever cared enough to try and keep him safe from his father he never had this kind of friendship before, but who was he kidding himself? He wanted Derek more than any other person he ever began to like before, he just didn't have the words and he was sure that if he began to thank Derek for offering him a place to crash he would instantly know how Stiles felt and would surely leave him, so all Stiles did was smile and tell Derek he would meet him at his place in a hour.

A/N: Wow it has been forever! A year or two ago my mother sold my laptop and I gave up on writing so I didn't bother getting a new one, and with working full time I lost the motivation and time to continue writing! I am 22 now! I just got a new laptop today so I may be writing more now but I'm not honestly sure where to go with this story! Hope this is decent!
