The day had started with a familiar sense of routine-Quincy handling her morning checks, going over security logs, and monitoring Taylor's schedule. But something was different. By mid-morning, she had intercepted another threat. This one was different from the others-more direct, more personal. "She'll never be safe. No matter where you hide her, I'll find you." By the afternoon, the threats escalated.
A suspicious package had arrived at Taylor's management office, Carlos brought it straight to Quincy, who personally inspected it before it could go anywhere near the singer. Her gut churned as she instructed Ricky and Simon to run a full sweep. The contents turned out to be harmless-a toy weapon meant to mimic something more dangerous, along with a note: "Next time, it won't be a joke."
Quincy clenched her fists. Every muscle in her body tense, as if waiting for the next blow. This wasn't just a prank. Fake packages, sinister letters, disturbing online posts-all targeted at Taylor. It felt targeted, personal, and calculated.
The weight of responsibility hung heavy on her shoulders. She wasn't just a bodyguard anymore; she felt like a one-woman army, constantly fending off an unseen enemy.
Later that evening, Quincy and Taylor arrived home after a late dinner with the Swift family. The evening had been pleasant-Austin making everyone laugh, Andrea sharing stories from their Christmas traditions. But as soon as they pulled into the blonde's driveway, Quincy's instincts kicked in.
Her trained green eyes immediately zeroed in on a car parked nearby. The windows were heavily tinted, and something about it felt off. Too quiet. Too still.
"Stay here," Quincy ordered firmly as she cut the engine.
Taylor, who had been mid-conversation about her new song, stopped and furrowed her brow. "What is it?"
"Just stay in the car," the bodyguard repeated, her voice leaving no room for argument. "I'm going to check something."
Taylor knew better than to argue when Quincy used that tone. She watched as the brunette stepped out of the car, the evening air cool but charged with tension, her posture rigid, her movements precise. She signalled the security team, who were already stationed around the perimeter, and gestured toward the suspicious vehicle. Her eyes never left the car as two of her team members approached it. Her pulse quickened, her mind racing through worst-case scenarios.
The team conducted a thorough check, flashing lights into the car, their movements careful but swift. After what felt like an eternity, the team gave her the all-clear. There was no one inside, just a parked car belonging to a local neighbour who often left it there. But it was enough to set her nerves on edge. She insisted that the entire perimeter be checked twice before allowing Taylor to step out of the car and set foot into the house.
"Quincy, it's just a car," Taylor said softly as they walked inside, her hand brushing a tense muscular arm. "I know things have been crazy lately, but we're home now. We're safe."
Quincy nodded, but the tension in her body didn't ease. "Safe for now," she muttered, glancing out the window again as if she could see the threats lurking in the shadows.
Taylor didn't say anything more. She knew Quincy well enough to recognise when she was wound too tight to be reasoned with. Instead, she squeezed a calloused hand gently before heading upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes.
The taller woman lingered in the living room, staring out the window. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was coming. The threats had been escalating, and she didn't trust that whoever was behind them would stop with just emails and letters. They were watching, waiting for the right moment. And she couldn't let her guard down, not even for a second.
