Chapter 38:

"Yes, my tutor also compliments me,"

"I see. I will never dance with you again since I am not good enough for you,"

"Really? I think you are the best partner so far,"

"I don't believe you since I am the only one that you danced so far aside from your tutor,"

"Don't be like that, Sir Mao. You know that you are the only one that I could rely on in this kind of situation,"

Sir Mao sighed as he tried his best to avoid her intentionally stepping on his feet and Davina was smiling while looking at his expression that wanted to go home and get out of that place, although, she couldn't see that his face if he was hurt from her so she put some more strength to step on him to see his reaction.

"Young Miss, please stop or else we will be in trouble if you lose control,"

"What? I didn't do anythin--!"

Davina didn't finish what is she saying when Sir Mao avoided her foot trying to step on his feet which made her out of balance but then Sir Mao held her waist and turned around kaya naman napakapit nalang siya sa kaniya and followed his lead until they finish the music. She didn't speak when she looked at him since he was serious when he turned her around so suddenly and just continued to dance like it was nothing even though she almost embarrassed herself at the center.

"You did great, Young Miss,"

"You, why did you avoide--"

"Young Miss, may I dance with you?"

Davina looked at the man who was asking her and it was the man they had seen at the cafe so she looked at Sir Mao beside her but he just looked at her with his usual expression. She looked back to the man asking her and smiled at him and the man smiled so happily as he thought that she would definitely accept his offer.

"I don't want to decline your offer but my escort is enough for me and I am not used to this so I am afraid that my dancing skills are not good enough to dance with another man aside from my escort. I am also tired so I can't dance with you,"

Davina acted like she was really tired and not good enough while looking like she was not at fault as they could hear the whispers that she didn't even have her debut so it was really not good to invite her to dance so the man immediately goes away after he apologizes to her.

"I didn't think that you are good at acting, Young Miss,"

"Of course, I can so thank me that I get you revenge from that man who thinks he can be good enough to par on you when he is not even half of your handsome face,"

"...thank you,"

"No worries,"

Davina said as they walked towards her mother and grandfather since she wanted to go home already as her feet were already its limits. She barely walks properly but needs to act like it was nothing kaya gusto na niyang umuwi at tanggalin ang kaniyang suot sa sandals dahil masakit na ang kaniyang mga paa.

"Mom, we should go home,"

"Yes, me and your Grandfather were already done with our business so we can go home now,"

"Yes, let's go fast. I can't take it anymore,"

"Is your feet okay?"

"Barely,"

"Alright, let's go now. Father can we go first,"

Roselyn said to her father as she looked at Davina who barely stand properly since she noticed that she was not comfortable even if she was just standing.
