Chapter 58:

"So, will you come to her tea time?" Raniel asked to confirm her answer since she only nods at him.

"...Yes," She answered as she sipped on her tea.

"Then, send back a letter, and read my letters, Davina." Raniel said in a soft voice, that is not his usual tone, especially mentioning her name.

Davina already noticed the changes from Raniel since they were in the countryside, and had been trained for the Royal Selection before. His voice tone was not that cold or distant as if she was talking to a wall, but now he was talking to her with more emotion in his tone, but only for her. She also noticed that he was careful around her now and speaking longer than usual.

"I will." She answered as she had answered him while smiling.

"I will look forward to your letters then, Davina. I have to go, and I really apologize for the sudden visit." Raniel said with a sorry voice as he bowed.

"It's really okay, Raniel. You don't have to apologize, but next time you visit, please bring Allyssa with you, okay?" Davina said as she stood up to walk with him.

"I'll keep that in mind," Raniel answered as he offered his arm to her.

Davina held on to his arm as they went down, and eventually the awkwardness was slightly gone as they talked about different topics or some stories, and about Allyssa. Raniel kissed Davina's hand once again before he got into his carriage, while she just smiled and waved her hand.

"...I will be back before dinner," Davina said to Sir Mao, who tried to stop Davina from going out.

Davina put some sleeping potion in his tea while they were in the garden after the morning training. She immediately changed into men's clothing that she had hidden when Sir Mao was already sleeping on the chair, and changed her appearance with a men's haircut, light brown hair, and eye color to dark brown so she looked like a young man now.

She immediately sneaks out from the doghole she found on the wall near the garden. Davina was not allowed to go out until she finished with her studies, being an heir, but she wanted to take a rest or unwind.

"This is a useful magic trick to change appearance, although I had a hard time maintaining it." She uttered as she walked away from the gates unnoticed by the knights she passed by.

Davina learned it from Ash to change her appearance; however, she also made sure that Ash wasn't by her side since she didn't want to get caught by anyone or seen with a magical beast, so she made sure that Ash was sleeping in her room after giving him some snacks and convincing him to stay there.

"Time to have fun at the capital." She uttered as she got into a carriage going to the capital.

Davina and Sir Mao were staying at one of the House Bennett vassals, which was near the capital, and where Ian was going to celebrate his birthday. One of the House Vego mansions near the capital, which is one of the famous mansions aside from those of the Royal Family.

"Sorry, Sir Mao. It's for the better. Good luck dealing with my mother and grandfather," She uttered as she looked around the capital.

She looks like a kid who just got out of the house, as she looks so amused while looking around the stalls and trying food that piques her interest or that looks delicious. Davina noticed Royal Knight Sir Grayle, who was her previous senior, along with Raniel, who handled them from not far from her. He was wearing his Royal uniform, which made her look at him coolly since it suited him. She wanted to approach him, but Davina remembered that she was in disguise, so she just walked by and didn't approach him.
