"It's my pleasure, Your Highness,"Davina smiled after bowing a little and avoiding looking at the Crown Prince who had been looking at her since they greeted them earlier. She wants to go away from there because of awkwardness but then she can't when they are still talking with the Crown Princess.
"Enjoy the banquet, Miss Davina,"
"Yes, thank you, Your Highness,"
After a few minutes, they were done talking with the Crown Princess so she was relieved when they go back to Sir Mao's table since they had left him earlier when they greeted the Crown Princess. Davina immediately sat down beside Sir Mao while Roselyn left them because she needed to socialize with the other ladies and for formality.
"I want to go home,"
"I also want to but the banquet didn't start yet,"
"What? Didn't start yet?"
"Yes, since we are an hour early so we have 20 minutes before the banquet will start,"
"Ugh, I thought it was already started since there are so many people here,"
"Well, it can't be helped since there were many young ladies that will debut, and aside from that, many unmarried noblemen were here to find a wife. Also, some were curious about the House Bennett's heir,"
"I see, so this debut was for those noblemen who don't have wives or partners, not totally for the ladies?"
"Sort of, but it is also for the ladies to look for potential husbands or make connections with those ladies who accompany them like your mother,"
"Hm. Do I need to look for a husband?"
"It's up to you since you are not just a lady. You are the heir of House Bennett, so I think you have the right to choose, or what your Mom's decision is,"
"That's good enough because I am not here to find a husband when I am already rich, haha,"
Sir Mao looked at her awkwardly since she laughed like a madman, although, in his mind, she made a point since she would not be swayed by them easily since she was the heir, and House Bennett was already rich.
"Please don't laugh like that, Lady Davina,"
"What? I just laugh the usual,"
"No, you are not,"
"How so?"
Davina frowned at him and looked at him seriously, Sir Mao looked away from her sight while she waited for his answer.
"You looked like a madman, Lady Davina,"
"What?! Is that how you describe your Lady?"
"Your voice, tone it down,"
Sir Mao calmed her down and gently made her sit down on her seat dahil napatayo ito dahil sa sinabi niya tungkol sa mukha siyang baliw kung tumawa. Davina glared at him bago ito umupo ng maayos at tinignan si Sir Mao ng masamang tingin.
"Ugh, you are not nice, Sir Mao,"
"How come I am not when I am your partner in crime? Didn't I help you go out yesterday even though you are not all--"
"Fine, fine, stop talking,"
Davina covered his mouth again as she looked around if her mom was near or not since he was spouting their outing yesterday which they snuck out. Sir Mao gently removed her hands from his mouth before talking.
"My Lady, please do refrain from using your hands like this. There are so many eyes here, we can't afford to have rumors that the heir of House Bennett was not taught about proper etiquette,"
