Bea's POV
While I stood hand in hand with Jhoana, I could feel my heart racing again—not from nerves, but from excitement. I could see the curiosity in everyone's eyes, especially Jia and Ate Ella, who was still smirking after her playful outburst.
"Grabe si Ate Ella, hindi talaga napapagod mang-asar. Mamaya siya pa mapaglihian ni Jho," I thought to myself, but it made the moment even more special. These were the people who mattered most, and they were all here with us for this announcement.
I squeezed Jhoana's hand, silently asking if she was ready. She gave me a quick nod, her eyes sparkling with the same joy I was feeling.
"Okay, okay," I started, holding up my free hand. "Alam kong andami nang nangyari tonight, and na-overwhelm na kayong lahat. But... ito yung pinakamasayang nalaman ko one week ago, namin ni Jhoana."
I glanced at Jhoana, my heart swelling with love as she smiled up at me.
Everyone was quiet now, their attention focused entirely on us. Even Jia, who usually couldn't stop with her jokes, was waiting in anticipation.
I took a deep breath, gathering the words I had practiced in my head a hundred times but still found hard to say out loud.
"Actually, ngayon ko lang sinabi kay Jho na baka pwede nang sabihin na namin sa inyo."
Jhoana squeezed my hand tighter. I could feel her excitement and nervousness as we prepared to drop the bombshell.
"We're... having a baby!" I finally announced, my voice cracking slightly with emotion.
The garden erupted into gasps, followed by cheers and shouts of congratulations. I could see Ate Ella's jaw drop as she processed the news. Jia immediately jumped up from her seat, dramatically clutching her chest.
"WHAT?!" Jia and Ate Ella half-shouted, half-laughed, their eyes wide in disbelief. "Twins ba kayo ni Ate Ella?! Hahaha."
Everyone started laughing, but the joy in the air was palpable. Mom stood up and made her way toward us, tears already welling up in her eyes.
"Bea, Jhoana, again, congratulations!" Mom said, pulling us both into a tight hug. "Ay, anak, I'm so happy for you two."
Tita Lovel followed close behind, already on the verge of tears herself. "Ay naku, magiging lola na ako. I can't believe it!"
Jhoana giggled beside me, her face glowing with happiness as everyone started to crowd around us.
"Kaya pala ang hinhin mo lately, Jho," Jia teased, crossing her arms. "Di ko akalain na may mas malupit pa kay Beatriz sa pagdadala ng secret! Nakakatampo," Ate Ella said, since she was the closest to Jho among everyone.
Jhoana just laughed, leaning her head on my shoulder. I could feel the relief in her, finally being able to share this moment with everyone.
"Tignan mo, ang saya-saya nila," she said, referring to our family.
Jhoana nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Hindi lang sila yung masaya tonight, pati ako, baby. Hindi ko in-expect na ganito, kasi diba, ang tagal na natin napag-usapan 'to."
We stood there for a few moments, basking in the warmth of our family and friends, until Ate Ella suddenly raised her hand like she was in a classroom.
"Wait, wait, wait!" she called out. "Before anything else... sino nagdala ng insecticide? Sa sobrang sweet niyo dalawa, feeling ko kailangan na nating magspray."
Everyone laughed again, and I couldn't help but join in. The night had been filled with surprises, laughter, and love, and I couldn't have imagined it going any better.
This was it—our future, starting now.
Jhoana looked up at me, her eyes soft and full of love. "Beatriz, thank you for everything. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko babawi sa'yo."
I smiled, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "You don't have to thank me, love. This is just the beginning. We're in this together, always. I know how you can make bawi," I said as I winked. Jhoana lightly hit my arm, and I think she got the message.
"Heh! Ikaw, madinig ka ni Donya Ella. Kung ano-ano nanaman sasabihin nun," she teased. I just chuckled and held her close. Surrounded by the people who meant the most to us, I realized this was exactly where I wanted to be—by Jhoana's side, through everything, forever.
Ella's POV
Almost everyone—Jho and Bea's friends and family—had left. It was just us closest friends remaining. Knowing Bea, of course, there was a small after-party. Hindi mawawala 'yon, hahaha.
I saw them walking toward me and Jia. "Ju, papunta dito si Jho and Bea. Pagtripan ko ha, sakyan mo. May kasalanan ka pa sakin, di mo man lang ako sinabihan. Sana nakatulong ako sa inyo kahit papano. Pero it's okay na inaalala niyo ako, hahaha," I said.
"Ewan ko sa'yo, Ate Ella, hahaha. Alam mo naman, kahit madalas ka namin ibully, love ka namin e."
Jhoana and Bea had already reached us, so I didn't get to respond to Jia.
"Nakakatampo kayo," I said as a greeting, laughing.
"Oo nga, hindi man lang kami sinabihan na magkakaroon na kami ng inaanak! Pasabog ngayong gabi. Pero yung about sa surprise proposal, labas ako diyan, ah," Jia added.
"Bakit naman?" Jho asked, crossing her arms. The pregnant lady in full sass mode, while Bea scratched her head.
"Halos araw-araw ka namin kasama, di man lang kami na-inform. Sus, Bea-del, nakakatampo! Sana nakatulong—"
"Hey, Ate Ella, don't tampo na. I just thought madami ka nang iniisip. Tapos papatulong pa ako sa'yo. Saka, I know you'd help me naman if I asked, and don't worry, sabi ko kay Jia babawi ako sa inyo. Kasama ka na don, syempre. After the wedding, I'll treat you guys. Let's have some bonding time. Besides, hindi ako kukuha ng flight until makapanganak si Jho. My focus now is our wedding and this little pumpkin," Bea said, kneeling in front of Jho and hugging her tummy. Halatang may konting tama din.
"Hi, baby. I know you're just six weeks, but I'm your Dada. I'm so excited to meet you, hug you, kiss you—everything about you, baby. Mahal na mahal ko kayo ni Mommy mo," she said to Jho's tummy. I felt happiness for this girl; Bea truly was in love, and it was clear she was in the right hands.
"Ay, Bei, pinagtitripa—" Jia was about to make her move.
"Hoy, tumahimik ka, Julia. Wala nang bawian. Kasama na ako, diba, Bei?" I quickly cut her off.
"Yes," Bea nodded.
"Ikaw talaga, Ate Ella, kahit kailan, hahaha. Pero kaya kami lumapit sa inyo para sabihin na tama na yan. Nakakarami na kayo. Para tumigil na din si Bea, may tama na yan," Jhoana said.
"Minsan lang naman 'to, baby, hehe," Bea grinned.
"Ay, basta, wala nang bawian. Sinabi na ni Bea, kasama ako!"
"Oo, Ate Ella, pasok na kayo. Beatriz, tara na," Jhoana said, pulling Bea along. Bea whispered something to her, but Jhoana swatted her away. Bea stole a kiss.
"Hoy, kayong dalawa! Sa loob niyo na ituloy yan. Ingatan niyo lang inaanak ko!" I yelled teasingly, watching them laugh as they made their way inside.
