Bea's POV
"Jho," I said, my voice soft but serious.
"Hmm?" she replies, still catching her breath as she snuggles into my warmth, her head resting on my chest. I can feel the steady beat of her heart, and it brings a comforting sense of peace.
"Can we talk? I mean, tell me everything, ask me everything you need to know." We talked, and she told me the story about Doc Anton and what happened to her life during the time we were apart.
"Is there still a chance we can get back together?" I asked, but she playfully hit me.
"Aww, what? Answer me."
"Tinatanong mo pa talaga 'yan after ng ginawa mo sa'kin?"
"What? Hahaha, I just followed you! Remember you said, 'Show me what you've got, Daddy,'" I said, mimicking her voice.
"Seriously, I've never felt this way with anyone, only with you, even before," I continued, my voice trembling slightly with emotion. "What we just shared... it's more than just physical. It's real, something deep. I love you more than I can put into words."
She lifts her head to look at me, her eyes full of warmth and sincerity, making my heart swell. "I feel the same way, Bei," she whispers, her fingers gently tracing the lines of my face. "This... you... it means everything to me. Like I said, my life isn't complete without you."
I smile softly, feeling a surge of love as I pull her back down to me, kissing her tenderly. "I want this—us—to last," I murmur against her lips, the words carrying all the hope and longing I feel.
"It will," she promises, resting her forehead against mine, her breath mingling with mine. "As long as we have each other, it will."
I close my eyes, holding her close, and in that moment, I know she's right. As long as we have each other, nothing else matters.
"Arayyy," I said, as she pinched me again.
"Ano nanaman? You're still so mapanakit," I teased.
"Hindi pa tayo, nambabae ka na agad," she said. What the—?
"Hindi naman ah! How could I, when I'm with you nga, oh," I protested as she pulled away from my chest and grabbed her phone from the side table.
"Tigilan mo ko. I have proof, oh! Ngiting-ngiti? May pa-akbay pa?" she said while holding the cover to her body and showing me a picture of me with Majoy earlier.
"Hahaha, so you're jealous. Kaya kanina, nung sinundo mo ko, may pa-baby, 'Tara na, magdidinner pa tayo,'" I teased her again, mimicking her voice.
"Ako magseselos? Asa ka," she said with matching eye roll as she put her phone down.
"Hahaha, nagpapicture lang naman 'yon. Saka bakit naman ako mambababae e meron na kong ikaw?" I said as I pulled her into a hug. We were still both naked.
"Hoy, tama na. Manligaw ka muna. Ikalma mo yang alaga mo. Hindi ko nga alam kung makakalakad ako ng maayos bukas," she scolded, but I couldn't resist kissing her shoulder with a playful sniff.
"Ay, sorry! Kala ko tayo na ulit. We just made love kasi, haha. Saka... I miss you so much," I said, trying to be sweet.
"Ay, ang galing mo talaga, de Leon. Hindi mo ko madadaan sa ganyan," she said as I took her hand and played with her fingers.
"Hahaha, I'm just kidding. I will court you every day, baby. Don't worry," I promised.
She turned to look at me and kissed me, but it was just a quick smack on the lips.
Jia's POV
"Jema, please place Jho's appointments on my desk. I'll just do my rounds. Anyway, good morning," I said as I entered Jho's office.
"Good morning, Doc Jia. Ay, Doc, Doc Jho just messaged me. She's already in the parking lot," Jema said. Kulit talaga ni Jho. We told her we'd handle her schedule.
"Kulit talaga ng boss mo. Pag nalaman ni Ate Ella 'yan, lagot siya," I said with a smirk.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Jho walked in. Your doctor is blooming today, all dressed up. Ano nakain nito?
"Good morning, Doc," Jema said.
"Good morning, Jema. Just call me if you need anything," Jho replied with a smile.
"Sige po, Doc Jho. Doc Jia, I'll step out now," Jema said, and I nodded.
"And you, Doc, what are you doing here?" Jho asked.
"Ay, wow. Good morning, Doc Jho, ha. Ikaw ang dapat kong tanungin niyan. Bakit nandito ka? Diba sabi namin, kami na bahala—" I was cut off because Ate Ella suddenly walked in.
"Hoy, Jhoana! Diba sabi namin, kami na bahala sa shift mo? Bakit ka nandito?" she asked sternly.
"Ang OA niyo pareho! Alangan magmukmok ako sa bahay. Mas okay na 'to na papasok ako—" Jho tried to explain but was cut off.
"Teka, hickey ba 'yan?" Ate Ella asked, coming closer to Jho to check. She crossed her arms, looking like she was interrogating her. Grabe mata nitong si Ate Ella. I didn't even notice that.
"Kaya pala blooming ka at good mood ka pumasok, Jhoana Louise," I teased, crossing my arms just like Ate Ella.
"Alam niyo, kayong dalawa, wala 'yan. Hindi hickey 'yan. Paano naman ako magkakahickey?" Jho explained, but Ate Ella was about to respond when the door opened again.
"Baby, naiwan mo," Bea said, holding Jho's shoulder bag. Jia and I exchanged glances.
"Hi, Bea/Hi, Bei," Ate Ella and I said at the same time, surprising Bea with our presence.
"Ah, Jia, labas muna tayo. Tara. Jho, you owe us an explanation," Ate Ella said as we quickly left the room together.
"Hickey 'yon," we both said at the same time.
"Nagkabalikan na agad sila? Yun na 'yon? Love-making agad? Hindi man lang nagpakipot isa sa kanila?" Ate Ella said, making me laugh.
"Hahaha, bwisit ka, Ate Ella. Malalaki naman na 'yung dalawa. Saka baka namiss ang isa't isa," I said.
"Ewan ko jan sa bestfriend mo, Jia," she said with a sigh.
"Anak mo 'yon," I reminded her.
"Walang uuwi hanggang wala tayong nakukuhang explanation diyan. Bantayan mo 'yan. Sabihin mo sa guard, wag papalabasin. Mag-rounds muna ko," Ate Ella instructed as she left. Chismosa talaga, dadamay pa pati guards ng hospital, but of course, I also want to know what happened.
I had just finished my rounds when I ran into Jema.
"Doc Jia, Doc Jho was looking for you earlier. She asked me to give this to you. She already left; she said she has an appointment at her dad's company," Jema said.
