Jhoana's POV

I rolled my eyes at Bea's playful comment kung ano ano nasa isip e. "Babe, it's 3:30 in the morning. Hindi 'yun 'yung type ng cravings ko," I said, lightly smacking her arm. She chuckled, pulling me closer.

"Okay, okay. What do you want, baby?" she asked, half-asleep but trying to be attentive.

"I don't know... something salty, pero sweet din? Pero hindi ko talaga alam kung ano gusto ko," I replied, feeling a bit frustrated at my unpredictable cravings.

Bea groaned softly. "Hmm, parang ikaw lang 'yan. Sweet pero salty din," she teased with a sleepy smile.

"Bea!" I laughed, smacking her arm again.

"Okay, okay. What do you want me to do? Gusto mo lumabas tayo at maghanap ng pagkain?" she said, stretching out beneath me.

"No, don't worry. I'll just get something from the fridge," I said, attempting to get off her, but Bea tightened her arms around me.

"Nope, I'll get it for you. You and baby stay comfy here," she mumbled. Even half-asleep, Bea was always so sweet. I smiled as she reluctantly got out of bed and walked to the kitchen.

While she was gone, I grabbed my phone and started scrolling through my socials. I couldn't shake off this feeling-parang may tinatago siya. Bea had been acting a bit weird recently, and although I knew she was busy with work and helping her mama, something else felt off.

After a few minutes, Bea came back with a plate of crackers, cheese, and some chocolates. "I know it's weird, but salty and sweet, right?" she said, handing me the plate with a grin.

I smiled at her effort. "Perfect. Thank you, love." I kissed her cheek, feeling a bit more relaxed.

Bea settled back into bed beside me, and I continued eating the snacks she brought. I glanced at her, noticing how tired she looked but still managed to smile at me like she always did.

"Thank you, babe. You didn't have to get up," I said softly, leaning my head on her shoulder.

She wrapped her arm around me. "Anything for you, love. You and the little one come first," she whispered, rubbing my back gently.

I felt a warmth spread through me. Moments like this reminded me why I fell for her in the first place-she was always thoughtful, even when she was exhausted. But my mind still wandered back to that feeling of unease. I didn't know if it was just my hormones or if something bigger was going on.

"Love, are you sure everything's okay?" I asked, trying to sound casual but failing to hide my concern.

Bea looked at me, a slight pause before answering. "Of course, everything's fine. Just a bit more busy with work lately, and making sure you're okay." She smiled, but there was something in her eyes that made me feel like she wasn't telling me everything.

"Hmm. Okay. I trust you," I said, though I still couldn't shake the feeling. Bea kissed my forehead, pulling me closer, and I decided to let it go for now. Maybe I was just overthinking.

As I drifted off to sleep in her arms, I couldn't help but feel like something big was coming-and soon, I'd know what it was.

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of breakfast and the soft hum of Bea moving around the kitchen. The sun was streaming through the curtains, and for a moment, everything felt perfect. I sat up, stretching, and placed my hand on my belly. There was a soft flutter, like the baby was giving me a gentle nudge oa 6 weeks palang hahaha.

I smiled to myself. "Good morning, little one," I whispered.

Sliding out of bed, I padded over to the kitchen where Bea was busy flipping pancakes. She turned when she heard me and flashed a bright smile.

"Good morning, love. How did you sleep?" she asked, placing a plate of pancakes on the table.

"Better, thanks to you," I replied, leaning in to give her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"How's baby doing?" Bea asked, placing her hand over my belly.

I chuckled softly. "Baby's fine, just as impatient for breakfast as I am."

Bea laughed, and for a moment, everything seemed normal. But as we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but notice the way Bea was checking her phone more than usual. It was subtle, but I caught it. Something was definitely up.

"So, what's the plan today?" I asked casually, trying to see if she'd give anything away.

"Oh, nothing much. I was thinking we could take it easy today," she said, her answer feeling rehearsed. She quickly glanced at her phone again, but when she saw me looking, she put it down and smiled.

I nodded, taking a bite of the pancakes. "That sounds nice."

The morning passed without incident, but the feeling in my gut persisted. Bea was keeping something from me.

By the afternoon, I couldn't take it anymore. "babyy," I started as we sat on the couch together, "are you sure there's nothing going on? You've been on your phone a lot today."

She looked up from her screen, clearly caught off guard by the question. For a split second, I saw her hesitate. But then, she smiled-too quickly. "Of course not, babe. Just work stuff, you know how it is."

I nodded slowly, but I wasn't convinced. "Okay... if you say so." medyo naiinis na din ako

She reached out, taking my hand in hers. "Hey, trust me. There's nothing to worry about." Her tone was reassuring, but the unease in my chest wouldn't go away.

As the evening came, Beatriz suggested we go out for dinner. It seemed innocent enough, but there was something about the way she asked that made me suspicious. Still, I agreed, thinking maybe a night out would clear my head.

We got ready and headed to a cozy restaurant Bea had picked out. The atmosphere was warm, with soft lighting and quiet music playing in the background. Everything felt calm, but I was still on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

After we ordered, Bea excused herself to the bathroom, leaving her phone on the table. I stared at it, feeling conflicted. I wasn't the type to invade her privacy, but something just didn't feel right. Before I could talk myself out of it, I quickly glanced at the screen.

There were a few notifications-nothing unusual-but one text caught my eye. It was from Jia: "Everything's ready for tomorrow!"

My heart skipped a beat. Tomorrow? Ready for what?

Before I could think any further, Bea came back to the table, catching me off guard. I quickly set her phone down, hoping she didn't notice.

"Everything okay?" she asked, sitting down and smiling at me like nothing was wrong.I forced a smile back. "Yeah, everything's fine." But inside, hindi na talaga ko natutuwa.

As the day went on, Bea continued to act like everything was normal, but I could tell she was distracted. I tried not to overthink it, but my mind kept going back to her checking her phone and the way she was being just a little too relaxed, like she was trying hard not to let something slip.

Tomorrow. Whatever it was, I had a feeling I'd finally get some answers.
