Tempest was alive with celebration. The sounds of laughter, music, and the bustling activity of the citizens filled the streets as the festival to commemorate the newfound peace unfolded. The skies were clear, and the air was filled with joy and relief after the long and grueling battles. With Michael and Feldway defeated, the looming threat over Tempest had finally lifted. It was a time for everyone to breathe easily and look forward to the future.

Rimuru strolled through the streets of Tempest, enjoying the festival alongside his closest allies. His usual relaxed demeanor had returned, though his mind was still processing all that had happened in the last few days. The weight of leadership was always on his shoulders, but seeing his friends, companions, and citizens enjoying the festival brought him a sense of peace.

As he moved through the crowds, Rimuru couldn't help but think of Ultima. After everything they had been through together—her revelations about being his counterpart from another timeline, their battles against Michael and Feldway, and her unfaltering loyalty to Tempest—there was an unspoken bond between them that went beyond the ordinary.

Suddenly, from behind him, a familiar voice broke through the noise of the festival.

Ultima: "Rimuru! Wait up!"

He turned to see Ultima weaving through the crowd, her violet eyes sparkling with excitement. She was smiling widely, her usual confident expression softened by the festive atmosphere.

Rimuru: "Ultima! Enjoying the festival?"

Ultima grinned, coming to a stop in front of him.

Ultima: "Oh, definitely. It's great to see everyone relaxing after everything we've been through. But, there's something I wanted to talk to you about. Do you have a minute?"

Rimuru raised an eyebrow, sensing something more serious in her tone despite her smile.

Rimuru: "Of course. What's on your mind?"

Ultima bit her lip for a moment, then took a deep breath. It wasn't like her to hesitate, and Rimuru noticed immediately.

Ultima: "Rimuru... I've been thinking a lot about everything lately. About who I was, who I am now, and... what I want moving forward."

Rimuru tilted his head, curious. Ultima's past, as his former self from another timeline, had been a complicated and emotional subject. She had carried the weight of that knowledge for so long, and now that the battles were over, perhaps she was finally ready to move on.

Rimuru: "I understand. It must be strange, carrying those memories with you. But you've been a huge help, Ultima. I wouldn't have been able to defeat Feldway or Michael without you."

Ultima's expression softened, and she stepped closer, her eyes meeting his.

Ultima: "It's not just about the battles, Rimuru. It's about us. About you and me."

Rimuru blinked, taken aback. Ultima had never been this direct about their relationship before. She had always been fiercely loyal, even protective, but this... this was different.

Rimuru: "Us? What do you mean?"

Ultima took a deep breath, clearly gathering her thoughts before speaking.

Ultima: "Rimuru, in the past, I was you. I lived that life in another timeline. I know what it's like to be in your position, to carry the burdens you carry. But in this timeline, I'm someone else. I'm Ultima. And I've realized that I don't want to just be your ally or your subordinate anymore."
