We had double marine biology.
Two whole hours of Mr. Winters talking like he was narrating a goddamn documentary.
Normally, I liked marine biology, but the way he explained things made me want to throw myself into the ocean.
I was trying — really trying — to pay attention. But there was just one tiny little problem.
West.
Because for the last 30 minutes he'd been whispering dirty one liners into my ear.
"Mads, I can't even tell you, how bad I wanna strip you down—" there was another one of those lines. This time for dramatic effects he added a groan, loud enough that only I could hear it.
I clenched my jaw, pressing my lips together.
I am a mature 18 year old. I will not laugh. I will not give this idiot the satisfaction.
But then he kept going.
"Mmm, I can't take it, baby," he faked another groan, "I need you so bad."
"West, shut up." I mumbled.
He bit his lip, stifling his own laugh. "You have no idea, baby," he said again.
The idiot didn't stop there, it just got worse and worse. And his hand made it's way on my thigh.
"I just wanna—" He started but then broke character and started laughing himself.
"Shit, I ruined it," he muttered, "That was supposed to be smooth."
I lost it. A sharp wheeze left my throat before I buried my face in my arms, laughing so hard my ribs hurt.
West pressed his forehead against my shoulder, trying to muffle his laughter but failing miserably.
"Ahem."
Mr. Winters' voice cut through, and I barely managed to lift my head, still grinning like an idiot as I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye.
"Is there something you two would like to share with the class?" Mr. Winters asked, arms crossed, looking like he was this close to strangling both of us.
West smirked, "Oh, nothing much, sir," he said, "I was just talking about how I'm gonna —"
His eyes flicked to mine, and I knew he was going to say something stupid.
"—deep dive Madi—"
I slammed my foot down on his, making him choke on his own breath.
Mr. Winters blinked. "Excuse me?"
"I was talking about how I was deep diving into my studies," West coughed out, his voice slightly higher than normal.
The room went silent.
Pin. Drop. Silence.
I kept my foot firmly on his as Mr. Winters narrowed his eyes, looking between us.
"Right," Mr. Winters said slowly, rubbing his temples like he was getting a migraine. "If you two are finished, maybe we can get back to the lesson?"
Neither of us were paying attention. Because we were looking at each other.
Mr. Winters gave us a long, tired stare before sighing. "One more word, and I'm giving you both detention."
