Madison's POV:

West had stayed glued to my side the entire day.

Like literally—glued.

We were attached at the hip since morning, and I could feel the stares. I could hear the whispers. We hadn't said it out loud to anyone, but this camp didn't need an announcement. Our school was basically run by drama, and after the stunt with Zora at the lake, people were catching on fast.

Especially when West had told that Nathan guy to fuck off. I don't know what exactly West said, but it was enough that I hadn't seen him again.

And ever since then, West was still holding onto me, like he was scared I'd disappear if he didn't.

That grip hadn't loosened all day.

Now, sitting around the bonfire with everyone else, his fingers lazily traced shapes against my thigh under the blanket we had.

No one said anything. But they didn't need to.

It wasn't just Zora who'd noticed. I was pretty damn sure Megan, Kylie, and the rest of her coven had already spread the word around camp.

Abby had probably already wrote a full novella in her group chat. Because, sure, West and I hadn't technically confirmed anything. But we also weren't exactly subtle about sneaking behind trees or how we came out of the same tent this morning.

And it didn't help that we were both naturally affectionate. Especially West — who's love language was physical touch.

His hand always found my waist. Mine always found his hoodie sleeve or his bicep. Sometimes both. We touched like the other would vanish if we let go.

Clingy couple? Guilty.

Suddenly I feel West's hand slip under my hoodie, tracing a soft line down my abdomen, and I squirm under his touch, suddenly ticklish.

His hands drag further up, and he tugs the blanket with him to cover my bare skin, now suddenly digging both his hands into my sides, making me scream out in shock and then soon laughter.

"WEST," I screamed through fits of laughter, his hands brushing my sides, tickling me.

"Guy's... please," Jake sighs at the sight in front of him, flinging a marshmallow that barely missed West's head.

West pulls back just enough to speak, "You're just jealous because no one wants to have a little laugh with you, Jake," West said without missing a beat, flipping Jake off lazily.

He drops his hand from my sides, and I immediately relax, leaning back against him, a smile plastered on my face. Not even a second later, his calloused hand finds it's way to my thigh, tracing patterns again.

Jake groaned. "Whatever. I get girls— I'm just not clinging to them like they're gonna get snatched by a bird."

Cole tried covering his laugh with a cough, and Lia leaned into him laughing, whispering something that made him grin like an idiot.

I caught Em's eyes, and she raised her brows at me, mouthing, soft couple.

I rolled mine. But I didn't move away from West either.

This feeling... it all just fell into place perfectly. That I sometimes wonder if what I called "love" in the past was even real. If I had just imagined it altogether. And now I see it... love wasn't wanting to love him. Love was wanting him to love me.
