I opened the door and walked in with the groceries. "Hey!"
"Tobias! You're home!" Rose jumped on me.
I glanced around. "Where's the sitter?"
"Locked in the bathroom." Rory said staring at her computer.
"Moo!" Jerry shook his toy cow at me. I ruffled his hair as I walked by.
"Get her out of there." I looked at Jeb.
"No human! She is my prisoner." Jeb started hitting me with hit his toy sword. I lightly shoved him out of the way, making him run toward Rory.
"Hey." I said as the door opened. I was smacked by a purse.
"NEVER AGAIN! I will never do this again." The sitter marched out of the bathroom.
"Why not?" I asked following her as she stumbled over things on the ground.
She turned around, "These children are demons! That one likes to lock me in places. That one is too smart for her age. She outsmart me and she is always right. And that baby, all it says is moo. They all need to be tested for sanity." She tried to open the door.
I closed it. "Don't you dare talk about my family like that. I pay you to do this. I shouldn't expect to hear you insulting children" I looked around. "And where is the fourth one?" I just saw Rose.
"I don't give a damn." She yelled at me.
"Moo." Jerry said, shaking his stuffed animal around.
I sighed and turned to Rory. "Can you go find her, Rory?"
"Can you hurry up?" I heard from the babysitter.
I turned around to face her. "With what?"
She was lighting a cigarette. "My money."
I grabbed the cigarette from her mouth and threw it in her purse. "You think I'm going to pay you after what you just did? Get out!"
She glared at me with ferocity. "Not until I get my money."
I kept my gaze with her. "Jeb, get the bat."
Her eyes widen. "Ok I'm leaving."
"Don't come back again." She threw the door open and ran out of the apartment and down the stairs.
"Toby?" Rose said holding the jar of cookies.
"Yes Rose?" I said picking her up.
She opened the jar and took a cookie out. "I'm sorry we need to be tested for sanity." She said with a puppy dog face.
I turned to all of the gang. This babysitter bitch wasn't going to get them down. "Hey, you guys are perfectly sane."
Rory snorted. "Most of us."
"Rory." I used my stern voice. This wasn't the time to make the rest of them upset.
Rory put her hands up in defense. "What? It was a joke." She said, laughing through a little bit of it.
Pep talk time. "You guys are not like anything that lady said. You are the most talented people I know."
Rory, Rose, and Jeb looked up at me and said, "I know." It seem like they all said it in unison.
I turned around and said. "Don't all say it at once."
Jerry ran up to me with this stuffed cow and hugged my leg. "Moo."
"Hey, it's 11:55. Time for bed." I picked up Jerry and Jeb. I started to carry those two to bed when Rose jumped on my back. I carried them all to bed.
Rory was still at the counter. "Hey Toby, before I go, I'll need to see the outfit. Make sure everything is good. Work out the quarks."
"Quickly, it's a school night."
"Today is Sunday. Yes tomorrow is a school day but today is still the weekend." She leaned on the counter.
Smartass. "You could just just go to bed."
"You could not hire a prostitute to be our babysitter." She countered
I walked over to her and picked her up. "I guess you want to go to bed."
My suggestion did well. "I can do it in 10 minutes." She proposed. I put her back down.
"I need to tuck in the little rascals, once I'm done with them then we can do the patch work." I walked back to make sure all of them would stay in their beds before Rory got started on my suit.
