I stopped the motorcycle when I knew for sure we were on a deserted street. I stepped off the motorcycle and brushed myself off. "Thank you for the ride."The lady got off of the bike and made her way over to me. "No problem. I mean you, saved all of those people, I could do the same for you."
That didn't make any sense. "Thanks but I have to get going." I backed up, trying to get some distance between us.
She followed my movement. "Please let me repay you. My boyfriend doesn't need to know." She had cornered me at the wall.
"No thanks ma'am. I'm just here to save the city." I tried denying her.
"Please?" She made a puppy dog face. I had a feeling she wouldn't leave me alone if I kept denying her.
I sighed. "If I give you a kiss, will you leave?"
She squealed, jumping up and down. "Yes."
"Ok but-" I didn't get to finish my sentence before she jumped on me and attacking my mouth. It took me by surprise, making me stumble back a bit. Her tongue somehow got into my mouth as she deepened the kiss.
She broke the kiss and sighed. "That was amazing." She got on her motorcycle and speed away.
Amazing wasn't the word I would use. Kind of frightening. I felt like did after Tiffany. I needed to brush my teeth. I also felt horrible. I wanted to be with Faye, and kissing random girls didn't help me get any closer.
All of this thinking made me forget to change out of the suit. I ducked behind a dumpster and swiftly took off my suit, switching back into the clothes I had on earlier. I emerged and started jogging to the nearest subway station.
I paid for my subway ticket and went down to the boarding platform. I got on the next train and sat down. There were a dozen or so people on the train.
"Did you hear about the bus crash?" A lady asked the man sitting next to her.
"Yeah and the Guardian saved the people who were stuck in the bus." He answered seeming to be fanning over.
"Yeah, and how he and that reporter lady seemed to be really close?" She thought me and Faye were close? Thats awesome!
But wow... that spread fast. I smirked to myself. This would be awesome. I have fans. Wait but they don't know it's me. A little disappointing. I got to listen to them until it was my stop. I got off the subway and walked up to ground level. Once I turned around the corner I ran into someone.
I held onto the person I almost knocked over, so they didn't fall over, "Oh god, I'm so sorry." I didn't expect to see who was in my arms.
I was looking at Faye. "Tobias?" She smiled at me, looking startled but also happy.
I was startled too, but only a little bit. "Faye?" I smiled letting her go.
"Yeah. How are you?" She asked even though she saw me earlier.
Just tell her the stuff that happened before the crash. "Oh good, went on a run. What have you been up to today?"
She let out a little laugh. "Well the bus today was interesting."
"What happened?" I said, pretending not to know.
"Well, there was bus crash." Faye said, like it was nothing.
"Oh god, are you ok?" I was concerned. She didn't tell me if she was hurt back at the crash.
"Yeah, and guess who was trying to be the hero?" She laughed, seeming to go over the events in her head.
"That one guy from the..." I said, as if I was trying to remember who the guy was... which was me.
"From the alley. Spangly weirdo who tried to kiss me." Faye scoffed. I am not a spangly weirdo...
I gasped, I think I was trying too hard. "No way. Did he try to do it again?" If only I got a kiss from her.
"No but he carried me like I was his bride. It was a little weird." Faye said, making a funny face.
I enjoyed carrying her. "That's really strange."
"Hey how is your hangover? Did the drink work?" Faye asked.
To be honest my head was still killing me, thanks to Rory. But I didn't want to tell her that. "It's a lot better. The drink worked wonders."
"That's good." She smiled up at me.
"Hey sorry you had to see me like that." I said, talking about last night.
She laughed. "You're not the first person I have seen drunk. No need to worry." She stopped abruptly "I am so sorry."
I looked down at her. "About what?"
"I made you walk away from where you were going. You were going somewhere and I distracted you." I looked around. We were downtown. I don't remember walking here.
"Thats fine you probably have to go to work anyway. I don't want to distract you." I said turning around.
She shouted after me. "See ya later."
I turned, walking backwards to face her. "See ya." I waved to her. Even with a hangover, she could make me smile. Maybe there is hope for our relationship. It has been a good day. The only bad thing is now I have to find my way home again.
