I walked out of my room the next morning to get the gang up. Rory was already sitting up, typing away at her laptop. "How did the date go? Not well considering that you have a new bruise added to the collection on your face." Rory said briefly looking up from her laptop.
I walked into the kitchen and got dishes ready for a quick breakfast. "Actually it when pretty good, considering I tried to get into a club that was run by the Celon Brothers and I was almost beaten up in front of Faye."
"That sounds like a more interesting night than we had." Rory said, taking a bite of some toast.
"By the way, how was everything here?" I asked, remembering that we never debriefed last night.
Rory shrugged. "Good. Nothing on the monitors."
"We should've installed those earlier." I said mentally hitting me head on the wall.
Rory rolled her eyes. "It's fine. I'm alright. I survived, that really all that matters. Anyway, my head feels amazing! It's strange, it feels like I can take information in very quick. Like on Tuesday in one of my classes I finished a test with have of the class period to go. And I knew all of the answers." Rory was talking a mile a minute.
I stopped her. "That's not that strange. You're a genious."
Rory stopped me and continued. "It was a pre-quiz, so I didn't even know the answers. And I can finish my homew ork in record time. I don't really know how to explain it."
"Well you can figure that out later, I have to get you guys to school. And then I have to find a job." I said grabbing the keys to the car.

I pulled up to the drop off place and parked the car. "Have a nice day you guys. Call me if anything goes wrong. Or if you forgot something. Or if..." I tried to think of something else that I would need a call for.
Rory, with Jeremiah in hand, looked at me. "Tobias, we will be fine." Rory said making a face at me.
I said, rolling my eyes at her sass. "Ok, good bye. Seriously though call me if anything bad happens."
I was about to drive away when Kenny walked up to the window. "Hey how are you?" He asked leaning in the window.
"I'm fine, Kenny." I shrugged at him.
Kenny leaned in even closer. "So do we have anything going on this weekend?" He whispered.
I gave him a weird look. "No. I don't know. I'll probably spend this weekend finding a job." I need one of those.
Kenny looked disappointed. "So nothing fun?"
"No, unlike some people I need a job to support my family." I said pushing up my sunglasses.
"Well if there is anything, and I mean anything, don't hesitate to call me." He said, pointing at himself.
I said, shooing him out of my car. "Yeah, yeah I know... now get to class."
"Anything." Kenny whispered slithering his way out of the window.
I nodded, turning the car on. "Yes. I get it."
"Anything." Kenny mouthed as I rolled up the window and drove away.

Apparently nobody wants to hire me. Even McDonald's. This really sucks. Yeah, I don't have a college degree but in was in the army. Stupid Lehman for firing me. I need a drink. Or just not think about him.
"Tobias, you put that beer down now. I don't need another hangover from you." Rory shouted seeing that I had a beer bottle in my hand.
Rory swiped the bottle from my hand and put it back in the fridge. "I'm not going to get drunk. I just need a job." I groaned, rolling my eyes at her.
"So drinking will solve that?" Rory placed her hands on her hips.
I sighed, plopping down on the couch. "No, nobody has wanted to hire me."
"Did you check the want ads in the newspaper?" Rory said, stepping around Rose who was coloring a picture.
I guess I didn't really think about. "No, I didn't."
"Also what skill set do you have. Maybe you should look for jobs in that field."
"Well the army." I said. "I know exercise things, and how to do other things."
Rory perked up. "Hey, you could be a trainer! You trained Kenny. How about you work at a gym?"
I sat up. "That's amazing. What would I do without you? You can help me look for a job."
Rory made her way to the door. "Well, I'm going over to a friends house."
"You are? Who?" I said standing up.
Rory let a groan out and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I told you about this Toby. I'm going over to Kenny's house for a small get together. He's here to pick me up."
"Kenny's?" I asked.
"Yes, it will be fine. I will call if I need assistance." Rory said walking out of the apartment.
"Where is the Rory peasant going?" Jeb asked plopping down on the couch.
"To a party?" I said, slightly confused about the whole thing.
"Can we go to the party?" Rose asked.
"No." I said standing up. "I'll be right back." I walked to the door.
