My phone rang loudly, playing a N'SYNC song. Dammit Rory, I need to change that ringtone again. The caller ID read Rory. I stepped out of the camera's view and let Kenny talk to the reporters.
"What do you need, right now isn't-" I stopped when I heard loud wheezing. It was Rory. She was having an asthma attack.
"Help!" She barely managed to get the words out, trying to get air into her lungs.
I got on my motorcycle and speed off. I kept driving until i got to the alley behind my building. I jumped up onto the fire escape and climbed up to the top level. Thank god it was night time or else people would think i was breaking in.
I pushed the window in and climbed through it, throwing my vest and goggles on the floor. "Rory!" I shouted pushing the hair out of my face.
"She's in the kitchen." Jeb lead me to her. Rory was lying on the ground her chest rapidly moving up and down. Her eyes were locked on the ceiling and her body was shivering.
I turned around to Jeb and Rose. "Jeb, go over and get Faye now! Rose, see if you can find her nebulizer."
"Ok." They both responded running to complete the task I gave to both of them.
I focused my attention back on Rory. "Come on Rory, breath with me." I placed a hand on her chest and propped her up so her back was against my chest. I settled my breathing and tried to get her to breath with me. Her chest was spasming against my hand. This wasn't working.
"Tobias is everything ok?" Faye said as Jeb dragged her into the kitchen. She gasped as she saw Rory.
I looked at Faye with fear in my eyes. "Call 911! Jeb, help Rose find her nebulizer."
Faye took out her cell phone and called 911. "Hello, we need an ambulance at"
Just as Faye was saying the building address Rory stopped shaking, her head slumping down to her chest. I glanced down at her in confusion. "Rory? Rory!" I put my ear to her heart listen for a beat. "She's not breathing." I laid her down on the kitchen floor, placing my hands over her heart. I started CPR.
"How is she doing?" Faye said from the other room.
"Can you watch Jeb, Rose, and Jerry. Take them to your apartment, I don't want them watching this." I said right before I went to give Rory mouth to mouth. Faye grabbed the gang and took them to her apartment.
"Come on Rory. Breath!" I slammed my hands down on her chest. All I received in return was a blank stare looking up to the sky. "RORY GOD DAMMIT BREATH!" I couldn't lose her. I kept slamming my fists on her chest.
Time slowed then and there, and everything became eerily silent.
The door slammed open, letting the paramedics in. I turned to them rushing through the door.
Thats when I heard the gasp from the floor. I looked back down to see Rory's chest move up and down, her eyes darting around the room. One of the paramedics moved me out of the way and the others made their way to Rory.
"She's alive." I breathed out, trying to hold back the tears. I let ou
t a laugh of joy, as they carried her past me. I quickly changed into different clothes and ran out behind the paramedics.
"I'm coming with you." I heard someone behind me. It was Faye. "My grandmother will watch the kids. I want to make sure you get to the hospital safely."
"Fine, let's hurry up though." I was running down the stairs and Faye was right behind me.
We got in my car and drove off to the hospital.
