Aaliyah Brielle

Ruro left because she was also preoccupied with handling all her business here, official and personal. She is spending most of her time with me because she is also returning to Italy next month. That was what she told me all of a sudden last night. However, I am not yet sure why. Maybe her dad called again.

I sent Ruro to her office as your not-so-clingy friend. And since I have nothing to do since my class was canceled for today. I also decided to take a walk on the property. It was a huge commercial property. It doesn't really look modern, as it was built surrounded by trees. There were also plants everywhere. It was a breathable environment. The building was just impressive. I am still amazed at how Ru built all of these in a foreign country without hesitation. A lot of risks, but I guess it was all worth it.

Thirty-five minutes later, Soonyoung arrived at the studio panting. I saw him holding onto his knees in front of my office.

"Hey!" I called, startling him a bit. He turned his back and was surprised to see me outside my office.

"Hi!" he waved his hand and immediately put on a smile.

It made me smile, too. Someone smiling at you is somewhat contagious.

"Let's get inside," I invited him into my office. "Be comfortable," I told him as soon as we got there. I saw him take a seat on the couch. Then I went to my mini pantry and got a glass of water.

"Here," I handed him the glass. "Were you rushing? You are panting," I mentioned.

He chugged in the water and then looked at me. "깜삼니다. Thank you," he remarked first. I sat in the chair beside him.

"Welcome. Anyway, what happened? Do you mind if I ask?" I asked him once more.

He didn't answer directly. He looked stunned as I asked. But he stared casually at his watch. He knew I was counting time. And he might be shy to tell me that he was late.

My impatience kicked in, and I commented, "Was it because you were late?"

"Yeah. I am sorry," Soonyoung now looked like a turtle that hid under its shell as soon as he apologized.

I snickered after finding that he just did a cute thing. "That's fine. Everybody gets late sometimes," I consoled him. Then I realized again and again, it was not the normal me.

I wouldn't want my schedule to get ruined, especially since I am sometimes a burst of all emotions. "Gwaenchana?" I was pulled back to my realization after hearing him talk.

"I am sorry, what?" I asked as soon as possible.

"You look shocked. Is anything hurting you? Do you feel pain? Are you mad at me? Or something? Because I ruined your schedule for sure," He was all over the place now.

It became a turning point after I stared blankly.

"I am fine," I reassured him.

"How about you? Is everything fine? This is the first time you've been late, no matter how busy your schedules are. But I understand your life as an artist," I told him.

"I actually didn't sleep well last night," I heard him shyly say.

I was curious, but I am also keeping it lowkey as much as possible. "Is there anything bothering you? Keeping you awake at night?" I asked while observing his response.

"Well..." he paused, and I was impatient for real.

"Well?" I repeated what he just said.

"I think I sent you a..." he paused and looked at me in the eye. I was curious. I was so curious that if you imagine my face, I could say there was a hint showing that it was bothering me, too. Somehow.

"Sent me what?" I asked him again, and he began to fidget with his fingers. I was counting in my head, trying not to force him to talk about something uncomfortable for him. It was not an easy thing for him to say. He was becoming more cautious, so I had to wait patiently.

Patience.

Patience.

I am summoning patience.

Soonyoung had to take a drink. He chugged all the remaining water from his glass.

"I think I sent you the wrong emoji last night," he stared at me as if he was waiting for my reaction.

Then it just sank in to me what he had just said. "What emoji?" because honestly, I don't know if I read it or not. I wasn't really particular about the most minor details, so I didn't notice it, and now I feel bad.

I immediately stood up and went to get my phone, which was on top of my desk. "Let me trace it back," I told him when I finally got my phone.

That created chaos.

"Ani! Ani!" Soonyoung stood up from the couch, and in a split second, I was spun around. I was now sitting slightly on the table, and he was in front of me. My only support was my left hand, now on the table, holding my weight as I leaned back on it. Because my right hand couldn't even process that my phone was gone, it was left there hanging. Empty.

Soonyoung snatched the phone from my hand and now holds it. Not just holding onto his hand, but above his head. He raised his hand just in case I snatched it back. Because why would he put it where I couldn't reach?

"Read it later when we are not together. I am begging, Aaliyah," his serious face was on a different level. It was scary. He was serious. And he looks like he is going to bite me if I don't follow what he just ordered.

Did he call me Aaliyah? That was not his usual tone. Or does he even call me that? He sounded different.

So distinct.

I suddenly feel the tension. It was becoming warm. No. Hot. Yeah. I felt hot. It was something not right.

And our position isn't helping, since he was leaning towards me. His right hand was on top of my table, too.

So close.

So close.

That I can't breathe, I think.

What am I feeling?
