Chapter 37
Aaliyah, with a smile on her face, felt a sense of relief and comfort as she remembered that Soonyoung was back home. They had shared a wonderful moment last night. The guy had sent her home hours after they finished the movie. As she walked out of her room with a grin on her face, she was suddenly startled.
"Goodness, Ru~! Why the heck are you popping up like that in my house?" Aaliyah immediately scolded her ferocious friend who was standing in front of her bedroom door.
Ru shrugged and flashed her signature carefree smile. "I thought you could use some company," she replied, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "Besides, I knew you'd be up early, eager to start your day."
Aaliyah rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile back. "Well, you could at least knock," she said with a playful tone.
Ru laughed, "Where's the fun in that?" She stepped inside Aaliyah's room and flopped onto the bed, making herself comfortable. "So, tell me all about last night. How was the movie? How's Soonyoung?"
Aaliyah sighed and sat down beside Ru. "The movie was great, and Soonyoung... well, he's just incredible. We talked about everything – our dreams, our plans. It felt like we were in our own little world."
Ru was stunned that finally Aaliyah had opened herself to certain possibilities that she was not even open about before. "Wow, Aaliyah, I can't believe how much you've grown. Just a year ago, you wouldn't have even entertained the idea of getting so close to someone new. And now look at you, talking about dreams and plans with Soonyoung."
Aaliyah nodded thoughtfully. "I guess sometimes the right person just comes along and changes everything. Soonyoung makes me feel like I can be myself, no walls or pretenses."
Ru listened attentively, her eyes twinkling with curiosity and excitement. "Sounds like you two really hit it off. I'm happy for you, Aaliyah. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
Aaliyah smiled, grateful for her friend's support. "Thanks, Ru. You always know how to make me feel better." She took a deep breath and glanced at the clock. "I should get ready. Soonyoung wanted to meet up again today."
Ru nodded and got up from the bed. "Alright, I'll leave you to it. But remember, if you need anything, I'm just a pop away." She winked and headed for the door.
Aaliyah chuckled and shook her head. "I know, Ru. Thanks." She watched as her friend left, feeling a sense of warmth and appreciation. With renewed energy, Aaliyah prepared for her day, excited to see Soonyoung again.
As she got dressed, memories of last night flooded her mind. The way Soonyoung had held her hand, the laughter they shared, and the ease with which they communicated. It was as if they had known each other for years. Aaliyah couldn't wait to see him again, to create more memories and strengthen the bond that had begun to form.
When she was ready, she grabbed her bag and headed out. The sun was shining, and the world seemed full of possibilities. Aaliyah felt a surge of happiness and anticipation, knowing that today would be another step in the journey she was embarking on with Soonyoung. The future was bright, and she was ready to embrace it with all her heart.
As Aaliyah drove to her dance class, she focused on pulling all the energy she could muster to guide her through the busy day ahead. The morning was dedicated to learning new dance routines, followed by overseeing the practice session of a girl group preparing for their upcoming solo. Aaliyah's role was to ensure everything was perfect, offering guidance and support.
Later in the day, a collaboration awaited her. She would be dancing alongside another girl group in a dance video, a thrilling opportunity that both excited and challenged her. Hours passed, and the physical demands began to take their toll. Aaliyah was barely hanging on, exhausted from the day's relentless pace.
Despite her fatigue, Aaliyah's determination pushed her forward. She knew the importance of each task and embraced the challenge with unwavering commitment. As she wrapped up the dance video, she felt a sense of accomplishment. The camaraderie and shared passion for dance made every moment worthwhile.
"It's a wrap," Aaliyah thought in her head.
"Kamsamnida, ssaem," the group bowed to her as they finally were done with the dance.
"You're welcome. Thank you, too," Aaliyah bowed back at the girls.
The bowing kept going until it was finally Aaliyah who stopped and fixed her things. She had a slight headache after finishing all three schedules for the day. Despite her weariness, she couldn't help but smile as she looked at the group, proud of their hard work and dedication. With everything packed away, Aaliyah took a deep breath and headed to her car.
On the drive home, the events of the day replayed in her mind. The intricate dance routines, the collaborative spirit, and the moments of shared joy and laughter. Each experience had added a new layer to her journey, one that she cherished deeply. As she pulled into her driveway, Aaliyah's headache seemed to ease, replaced by a sense of peace and contentment.
As she approached her house, Aaliyah noticed a familiar figure standing by the front door. Her heart skipped a beat when she realized it was Soonyoung, patiently waiting for her. His presence brought a wave of comfort and excitement after such a demanding day.
"Soonyoung!" she exclaimed, stepping out of her car with a tired yet joyful smile. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to surprise you," he replied, returning her smile. "I thought you might need some company after such a busy day." Aaliyah was taken aback, knowing that they weren't supposed to meet because of the sudden change in Soonyoung's schedule. Yet, here he was.
Aaliyah felt a surge of gratitude and affection. The day had been long and exhausting, but seeing Soonyoung made it all worthwhile. She walked up to him, and they embraced, sharing a moment of quiet connection before heading inside together.
"What's that?" Aaliyah as a curious cat wanted to know about the paper bag left in the couch of her house.
She already unpacked all the food Soonyoung took.
"Oh. Wait. I have been waiting to give you this," Soonyoung excitedly told Aaliyah about the content of the bag, and he even ran towards it and took out a piece of art.
It was a small round knitted blanket with flowers around it.
"Wait for the magic," He told her.
Soonyoung held the center of the blanket and then hold it like a baby. It turned into a bouquet.
"Oh my gosh. That is adorable. It's so beautiful," Aaliyah could not contain her happiness. She just can't believe Soonyoung would remember her not liking the real flowers. "Did you make it?" she curiously asked.
"Like the other ones, yeah, I made them," Soonyoung shyly told Aaliyah. She was a proud partner and, surprising him, gave him a peck on the cheek.
The two bonded while eating. They have very random topics again until Soonyoung had to go back home again. They said their goodbyes and their tight hugs promising that they will be seeing each other again for tomorrow.
Finally, as the day drew to a close, Aaliyah allowed herself a moment of rest, reflecting on the day's achievements. She had navigated through each challenge, guided by her passion and resilience. Though exhausted, Aaliyah felt fulfilled, ready to take on whatever tomorrow might bring.
