Chapter 30: Unexpected Night Out

A Serendipitous Encounter

Soonyoung tossed and turned in his bed, unable to find solace in sleep. The ticking of the clock seemed to grow louder with each passing second, amplifying the restlessness that gripped him. He finally decided enough was enough and slipped quietly out of his room. The cool night air might help clear his mind, he thought, as he headed towards the hotel's garden.

As he stepped into the dimly lit corridor, he was suddenly startled by a familiar voice. "Can't sleep either?" It was Wonwoo, leaning against the wall with a knowing look.

Soonyoung sighed with relief, "Yeah, I just needed some fresh air."

Wonwoo chuckled softly, "Me too. How about we head down to the bar for a drink? Not that I'm much of an alcohol person, but it might help us relax."

Intrigued by the suggestion and in need of a distraction, Soonyoung nodded in agreement. As they made their way down, they were joined by Woozi, who seemed just as restless. "Hey, tomorrow's a free day for us anyway. We can afford to have a drink tonight and rest up," Woozi remarked with a grin.

The trio descended the stairs and entered the cocktail bar by the hotel's pool. The gentle ripple of the water and the soft glow of the pool lights created a serene atmosphere. To their surprise, they found Jun seated alone at the bar, nursing a drink.

"Jun? What are you doing here all by yourself?" Wonwoo asked, a playful glint in his eye.

Jun looked up, clearly caught off guard. "Oh, hey guys. Just couldn't sleep, I guess."

Wonwoo's teasing tone returned, "Or maybe it's because of that maiden you were eyeing in the restaurant earlier. Is she the reason you can't sleep?"

There was a silence because of that awkward notation from Wonwoo. Soonyoung tried breaking it and joined in the teasing, "Do you like her, Jun?"

Jun's face flushed, and he fumbled for words. He was in a panic, clearly not expecting the sudden interrogation.

"A-aniya," Jun was flustered.

They all chuckled at their friends reaction.

Woozi, ever the voice of reason, chimed in, "It's okay to like someone, you know. There's no harm in it." He was calm, confident, not questioning, but reassuring that it was fine. "I would not believe if you guys would tell me that were not attracted to some girls we encountered," said the guy who rarely talks about his feelings and was always bounded by work.

They knew Woozi was too busy to like someone so they understood. However, he was suddenly the one reassuring them that it was fine as if someone also caught his eye.

Jun managed a shy smile. Wonwoo and Hoshi also exchanged glances.

"Just that they might be a possibility that I might fell into the same trap as you guys," Woozi explained.

They bopped their heads as that is possible, too. The group fell into comfortable laughter, sharing stories and teasing each other.

As the night wore on, the conversation took a turn when Jun, recovering from his initial embarrassment, decided to turn the tables on Soonyoung. "Speaking of liking someone, Soonyoung, what's with you being on the phone all the time and ordering flowers? Your eyes have been glowing differently lately."

Soonyoung's eyes widened in surprise, and he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks. He hadn't realized his actions had been so noticeable. "I... well, there's someone I've been talking to. Someone special," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
