Anupamaa returned home with a quiet determination that had been absent for years. After meeting Anuj, something shifted inside her. She no longer felt the weight of fear or the need to justify herself. As she entered the Shah house, she immediately noticed Vanraj sitting in the living room, his chair pulled to the center, right in front of the door, as if daring her to challenge his authority.
But today, she was ready.
Anupamaa (calmly):
"Mr. Shah, yeh kursi yahan laake kya dikhane ki koshish kar rahe ho? Kya hua hai?"Vanraj looked at her with a smug smile. Without saying a word, he held up his phone, displaying a video. It was of Anupamaa and Anuj dancing at the recent party, and the clip had gone viral. He expected her to feel ashamed, but instead, her expression didn't falter.
Vanraj (mocking):
"Yeh dekho. Tum aur Anuj. Samajh lo, Anupamaa. Tumhari izzat puri duniya ke saamne hai ab. Tum aur Anuj saath naachte hue, log kya kahenge?"Anupamaa didn't blink. She folded her arms across her chest, her voice firm and unapologetic.
Anupamaa (confidently):
"Anuj mera classmate hai. Hum sab doston ke beech dance kar rahe the, enjoy kar rahe the. Yeh tumhara koi kaam nahi hai, Mr. Shah. Tumhe jo sochna hai, socho. Tumhara mere zindagi pe koi haq nahi bacha."Just then, Baa's voice cut through the air, filled with disdain.
Baa (taunting):
"Pati se aise baat karti hai? Thoda aazadi kya mil gayi, sar pe chadh gayi hai. Izzat rahti hai pati ki?"Anupamaa's temper flared as she turned sharply toward Baa, her voice rising, but still controlled.
Anupamaa (furious):
"Kyun pati? Mr. Shah mera pati nahi hai! Divorce ho chuka hai. Aur main kaha jaungi, kaise jaungi, kiske saath jaungi, yeh sab batane ki tumhare bete ko koi zaroorat nahi. Tum logon ki wajah se main yahaan ab tak hoon."Baa, not one to back down, stepped closer, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Baa (sneering):
"Paraya mard ke saath naach rahi thi? Samaj mein kya izzat reh jaayegi?"Anupamaa's eyes narrowed as she shot back, her voice now cold and resolute.
Anupamaa (cutting tone):
"Ek paraya mard ke saath ek hi chhat ke neeche reh rahi hoon tumhari wajah se, Baa. Tab samaj kuch nahi kehta? Jab tumhare bete ne mujhe dhokha diya, tab samaj kahan tha?"Baa faltered, but quickly recovered.
Baa (indignant):
"Kaun paraya mard? Ab Mr. Shah paraya mard ban gaya? Tumhe sharam nahi aati?"Anupamaa stepped forward, her voice low but laced with power.
Anupamaa:
"Haan, Baa. Samajh lo. Main Mr. Shah se shaadi-shuda nahi hoon ab. Divorce ho chuka hai. Tumhara beta mere liye kuch nahi hai. Tumhare bete ne rishta khatam kiya hai, aur ab usse mera koi lena-dena nahi. Samjhi tum?"The room fell silent, everyone too stunned to react. At that moment, Samar entered the house, having overheard the last part of the conversation. He walked in, his expression calm yet firm, addressing Vanraj.
Samar (with quiet defiance):
"Mr. Shah ko haq nahi hai Maa se yeh sab puchhne ka. Woh unki zindagi ke faisle nahi karenge."Baa stared at Samar in disbelief, her authority crumbling in the face of both Anupamaa and her son. Anupamaa glanced at Samar, her heart swelling with pride. She wasn't alone in this fight anymore.
